     Hampton Irvin Perry went to be with The Lord on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 2:30 AM. He was born April 12, 1928 in Cedar Springs, Georgia to Ruby Roberts Perry and Willie Green Perry. After serving two years at Bethesda Naval Hospital during WWII, he later graduated from Furman University. Rev. Perry attended Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and served as pastor of many Southern Baptist churches in SC during a fifty-five year span. He also taught elementary school and high school English and math.
     He is survived by Vera Bryan Perry (devoted wife of 64 years), son Wade (Pat), son Gordon (Barbara), daughter Rose Jones (Tim), grandchildren-Alison, Mark, Jonathan, Laura (Eddie), Michael (Lindsey), and Matthew (Tara). He is also survived by six great-grandchildren and four sisters- Hallie (Joe), Syble (late husband Sang), Ada (Jerry), and Macie (late husband Robert). He is predeceased by son Dan (Terrie), brother Fletcher and sister Annette.
     The family would like to thank Vicky Starnes, Mae Stroud, Alese Webster, Danielle Kearns, Shirley McKenzie, Sharon Carpenter, and all other caregivers for their outstanding devotion to Rev. Perry.
     A memorial service will be Sunday, February 16 at 2:00 PM at Spring Gully Baptist Church in Andrews, SC followed by burial at the church cemetery. Rev. Grover Mixon will officiate, and Rev. Randy Zurcher will assist. At 1:00 PM, prior to the service, visitation and viewing will be at Spring Gully Baptist Church.
      Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
