Norman Melton Gause, 72, husband of Karen Coleman Gause, died Friday, May 9, 2014, at his residence after an illness.

Mr. Gause was born June 19, 1941, in Kingstree, a son of the late Hobson R. and Leola McKenzie Gause. He was a graduate of Kingstree High School and was the owner of Pee Dee Pool and Spa in Florence. Mr. Gause attended Peace Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Clarence Gause, Marion Gause and Douglas Gause.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are: his children, Cynthia M Gause, Norman M. Gause, Jr. and Gary C. Gause all of Florence; his sisters, Roberta G. (Rocky) Gannon, of Darlington, Myrtle G. Powell (Bobby) Smith of Kingstree, and Vivian G. Cooper of Lugoff; his brothers, Raleigh (Mattie) Gause and Beaufort (Nancy) Gause of Kingstree; his grandchildren, Anthony (Genifer) Hayes, Michael Eadie-Gause, and Logan Gause; and a great granddaughter Jordan Hayes.

Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Monday, May 12, 2014, in the Williamsburg Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Kingstree Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends Sunday afternoon from 3 to 5 P.M. at his home, 3168 Waterford Drive in Florence and one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
