William S. "Steve" Chew

     Mr. William Stevens “Steve” Chew, 65, husband of Sarah V. Grayson, passed away Sunday April 27, 2014, at his home at Litchfield.

     Mr. Chew was born October 13, 1948, in Louisville, GA, a son of the late Mary Riddle Chew and Ellis Hudson Chew. He was a graduate of Wadley High School in Wadley, GA and attended Middle Georgia College, Armstrong College in Savannah, and University of West Florida in Pensacola. Steve was a veteran of the US Navy. He was a former manager of Columbia Custom Clubs in Columbia, SC and retired from Palmetto Promotions in Columbia. Steve was an excellent golfer, a fabulous cook, and a dear friend to many.

    Surviving, in addition to his wife Sarah, of Pawleys Island, are: 2 brothers, Alexander L. Chew and Frank Ellis Chew, both of Aiken, SC; a nephew Frank Ellis Chew, Jr.; and a great nephew Onan Cade Chew.

    Graveside funeral services will be 4 PM Thursday, May 1, 2014, in Cedar Swamp United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church from 3:30 to 4:00 just prior to the service. Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Williamsburg Funeral Home is assisting the Chew family.
