Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 20, 2015, in Midway Presbyterian Church, with burial in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Harrington’s family will receive friends 6 to 8 PM Monday at Williamsburg Funeral Home.

Mrs. Elizabeth Louise “Lib” Carter Harrington, 93, widow of Jacob Kinder Harrington, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Silver Bluff Village in Canton, NC.
Mrs. Harrington was born February 6, 1921, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Richard D. Carter and Julius Annie Scott Carter. She was the Valedictorian of the Class of 1938 at Kingstree High School and retired in 1982 as bookkeeper for the Williamsburg County Treasurer’s office. Mrs. Harrington was a member of Midway Presbyterian Church, where she was active in the Presbyterian Women. She loved gardening, fishing, and playing cards with her Oakdale friends.
Surviving are: 2 daughters, Ellen Cantey, of Kingstree and Ann H. (Sanford) Roberson, of Lake Junaluska, NC; a son, Ricky (JoAnn) Harrington, of New Zion; 7 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband Jacob and her parents, Mrs. Harrington was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 1 brother.

I am sorry to hear of your loss. The death of a loved one is one of the most devastating experiences a human can face. At times, the loss can seem unbearable. The Bible promises: “God is near to the brokenhearted.” It also says: “Throw your burden on God and he will sustain you.” (Psalm 34;18 and 55;22) I hope this message will help you cope with the loss of your loved one.
