A memorial service will be held 2 PM Friday, February 3, 2017, at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church.

Visitation

The family will receive friends from 1PM to 2 PM Friday, before the service at the church.

Carl David “Spooky” Jones, 69, passed away Monday, January 30, 2017, in Kingstree Nursing Facility.

“Spooky” was born September 19, 1947, in Kingstree, SC, a son of the late Carl W. Jones, Jr. and Winnie Powell Jones. He was a graduate of Kingstree High School and attended Whitten Village School where he worked at the hospital and was a volunteer firefighter. “Spooky” won the state and county awards for Adopt a Highway program in 2007, and the Iron Eyes Cody Award from the Williamsburg Home Town Chamber. He was a member of Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, which he loved, and he was in the Men’s Club there for over 30 years.  He also loved the Special Olympics.

Surviving “Spooky” is his sister, Wynn J. (Chuck) Blume, of Salters.
