Funeral services will be held 2 PM on Sunday, November 30 at Union Presbyterian Church in Salters, SC
Visitation

Visitation will begin at 1:00pm in the Martin Building located at Union Presbyterian Church.

Mrs.Harriette McCollough Tuttle Buttermore, age 95, died Wednesday, November 26, 2014 in Lexington, SC. Mrs. Buttermore lived the last 11 years of her senior life in Lexington, SC with her daughter, Joan B. Stuckey and son in law, Keith N. Stuckey. She was a very special lady and enjoyed her family life in Lexington and the frequent visits with her great-grandson, Hunter Winslow Stuckey and grandson, Eric Capers Stuckey.
Mrs. Buttermore was born May 13, 1919 in Salters, SC, a daughter of the late Edward William Tuttle and Hallie McCollough Tuttle of Lane, SC. Her late husband was Robert Lynn Buttermore. She attended school in Salters and Lane, SC and was a graduate of Kingstree High School. She attended Flora MacDonald College in Red Springs, NC and was a graduate of Queens College in Charlotte, NC in 1939. She taught school in North Carolina, Florida, and South Carolina. She retired after teaching 27 1/2 years at the age of 68. She loved teaching, reading, sewing, embroidering, gardening, and the beach. She spent many years taking care of her mother who lived to be 100 1/2 years old.
Surviving are: her children, Roger Edward Buttermore of California, John Gregory Buttermore of Sumter, SC, and Joan Tuttle Buttermore Stuckey of Lexington, SC; seven grandchildren, Eric Capers Stuckey of Lexington, SC, Gregory Keels Buttermore of Sumter, SC, Brandy McCollough Buttermore Stevens (Denny), Sumter, SC, Kirk McCollough Buttermore, Erin Devine Buttermore Grubb (Rob), Sian McClary Buttermore, Lucy Willicomb Buttermore all of Australia; Step grand son, Chris Scott Harrington (Marianne) and their 3 sons of Burlington, NC; 5 Great Grand Children; and her sister Anne Tuttle McNair, of Gable, SC.
Visitation and funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 30 at Union Presbyterian Church in Salters, SC. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm in the Martin Building located at the church, with funeral services beginning at 2:00pm in the church sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Union Presbyterian Church, c/o Diane Boyd, 114 East Brooks Street, Kingstree, SC 29556.
