    Funeral services will be 11 AM Friday, July 7, 2017, in the chapel of Williamsburg Funeral Home in Kingstree, with burial in Salters Methodist Church Cemetery.

Visitation

Mr. Smith’s family will receive friends 6 to 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.

Reynolds James Smith, 81, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017, in an automobile accident near Kingstree.

Mr. Smith was born August 10, 1935, in Cades, SC, a son of the late Herbert Bejamin Smith and Eulee Kirby Smith. He was educated in Williamsburg County schools, was a veteran of the US Air Force, and retired after 32 years at Milliken in Kingstree. He was a member of Salters Assembly of God Church.

Surviving Mr. Smith are: a daughter, Donna Powell, of Lake City; 4 sons, Roderick James “Ricky” Smith of Ridgeville, Marvin Eugene (Denise) Smith of Kingstree, Eric Jerome (Tonya) Smith of Turbeville, Greg (Brittany) Smith of New Zion; his former wife of 33 years and mother of his children, Sue Smith; 2 brothers, H.B. (Nora) Smith of Kingstree, Arial (Cheryl) Smith of Indiana, 6 sisters, Catherine Duke, of Timmonsville, Nita Mae (Burnette) Yarborough of New Zion, Dell Prosser,  Linda Williamson, and Janie Knight, of Kingstree; and Brooks Jackson of Indiana; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Smith and a sister, Rounette Belue.
