Funeral services will be 3 PM Wednesday, December 30, 2015, in Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, with burial in the church cemetery.

 

Visitation

 

The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Williamsburg Funeral Home.

Samuel Boone “Sammie” Boyd, 89, husband of Evelyn Bradham Boyd, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2015, in McLeod Hospice House in Florence.

Mr. Boyd was born May 23, 1926, in Williamsburg County, a son of the late Charles Hilliard Boyd, Sr., and Leamie Fanning Boyd. He was a graduate of Greeleyville High School and was a veteran of the US Army. Mr. “Sammie” was retired from Walker Tire Company in Manning. He was a member of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church where he also was a member of the Men’s Club. Mr. Boyd was a retired firefighter with Williamsburg County Fire Department Station 2.

Surviving, in addition to his wife Evelyn, of 61 years are: a daughter, Tanya (Robert) Bryant, of Greeleyville; a grandson, Robert Boone Bryant; and a brother, Sease (Pat) Boyd, of Greeleyville. In addition to his parents, Mr. Boyd was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Boyd and two sisters, Sohnya Boyd and Winston Fleischman.

Funeral services will be 3 PM Wednesday, December 30, 2015, in Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
