Margaret Daniels Britton 83, widow of Joseph D. Britton, Sr., passed away on January 6, 2015, at her son’s residence.
Margaret was born in Manning on September 17, 1931, a daughter of the late George Muldrow Daniels and Lessie Kennedy Daniels. She was a graduate of Manning High School and was the Salutatorian. She was retired from McGill Distributors and later worked at Kingstree Fabric and Kiddie Shop and Tomlinson’s. She was a member of Union Presbyterian Church, where she was a former chairman of the Louise Burrows Circle and an active member of The Women in the Church. She was a member of The Red Hat Society and Gardens Makers Garden Club. Margaret was a devoted wife, a caring mother and grandmother, and always loved being with her family and extended family.
Surviving are: a daughter, Allison Britton (Marty) Inman; a son, Joseph Daniel “Jody” (Lisa) Britton, Jr.; 4 grandchildren, JD and John Floyd Britton and Alexa and Britton Inman; special caregivers, Judy Jowers, Donna Patterson, Willie Tisdale, Beverly Flowers, and Abby Moore. In addition to her parents and her husband, J.D. Britton, she was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Loy Daniels.
A funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday, January 8, 2015, in Union Presbyterian Church in Salters, with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM at Williamsburg Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Agape Hospice, 100 W.
