Kathryn Blair Kennedy, 42, of Kingstree, SC, passed away, Saturday, October 7, 2017, at her home.
Ms. Kennedy was born February 19, 1975, in Sumter, SC, a daughter of Susan Castles Kennedy and the late George Curtis Kennedy, Jr. She was a 1993 graduate of Williamsburg Academy and attended Converse College, where she was a member of the 1997 class. Kathryn was a member of Kingstree United Methodist Church. She loved watching the Clemson Tigers play football and would never miss a chance to meet the coaches or players. Kathryn never met a stranger and loved an adventure. She was a great story teller and entertained others with stories of her friends and family.
Surviving in addition to her mother are: her sister, Laura Barrow Kennedy, of New Zion, SC; many aunts, uncles, and cousins who were special to her; and many friends from all over who will miss her dearly. Kathryn also leaves behind her two beloved Labrador Retrievers, Gravy and Lilli. Her dogs were her loyal companions and her pride and joy. Kathryn was preceded in death by her father and paternal grandparents, George Curtis and Mary Lundy Kennedy, and her maternal grandparents, Joe Blair and Norma Darby Castles.

Kathryn and I worked together at CVS in 2000. The pharmacy was serious in our work, but Kathryn could still bring smiles, giggles, and laughter to the day. At Lake City Hospital, even if a test caused concern, she put me at ease, because she had me cracking up. Over the years whenever we saw each other, she was always a friend. I shall miss those moments and will always remember her with a smile. I am so sorry for your loss. Praying for you all.
Kathryn and I went to school together up until 5th grade.
In late 85 my dad passed away and my mom moved us back to Boston.
Kathryn and I wrote letters over the years to keep in touch.
I was so happy to get that letter each time
Just to know I got mail addressed to me.
I still look back on the days getting the mail and finding a letter from her.
I was so excited!
RIP Kathryn you will be missed
We are thinking of all of you.

Kathryn was always such a source of happiness and humor! She had a way of telling stories that made everyone feel as though they were right beside her instead of just someone HEAR ING the story. I met her back in 1993 or 94 while at Converse with my sister. She continued to be close with our family from that moment on!! Prayers be with the family. I’m so sorry for your loss! She will be missed!!
