Funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, with a burial in the church cemetery.

David Scott Timmons, 81, husband of Loretta Smith Timmons, died Monday, April 16, 2018, at Carolina’s Hospital System in Florence.
David was born June 22, 1936, in Kingstree, a son of the late David Benjamin Timmons and Katherine Scott Timmons. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps and retired from Southeastern Waterproofing Company. After retirement, David was a driver for Longstreet Chevrolet. He enjoyed camping, gardening and loved playing with his great-grandchildren. David was a member of Mount Vernon United Methodist Church.
Surviving David in addition to his wife Loretta are: his children, Bennie Timmons, Jim (Kathy) Timmons, Denise Timmons, and Harvey Timmons, all of Kingstree; his grandchildren, David (Brandy) Timmons, of Florence, Chris (Erica) Creel, of Coward, Jamie Tisdale and Nick Evans, both of Marion, Josh and Lacy Timmons, both of Manning; his great-grandchildren, Corbin, Kylan, Raelynn, Liam and Morgan; three brothers, Benji (Rita) Timmons, Gordon (Katie) Timmons, and Mike (Maria) Timmons; and three sisters, Elsie (Ray) Wagner, Pat (Sease) Boyd and Lois (Don) Taylor.

RIP POP, you will be greatly missed. You have gained your wings and now are flying high with the ANGELS in HEAVEN.
Denise and Mrs Loretta, I was so sorry to hear about Mr. Timmons. Stanley shared that with me today. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
I am so saddened by Uncle David’s passing and know that I am praying for the family. He will be dearly missed and was a fond memory and part of my childhood years. I will forever be grateful for the time he took with me, especially in the gardens. I loved him dearly. He will be missed.
