Mr. Gene was a wonderful man. He was a true Renaissance man. He was a fisherman, a mechanic, a gardener, an animal lover, a decorator, painter and cook. He made the best pilau! Most of all he was a great friend. He brought my parents the newspaper every Saturday and Sunday and took time to visit with them when he and Miss Eva weren’t at the beach. He helped them with many things around the house and brought them his wonderful tomatoes. He always made me feel special. He will be greatly missed. The Eatmon family loved him very much and are so sorry for your loss.
I’m so very sorry about Mr. Gene. He was such a good man and always spoke to me every time he saw me. He certainly lived a good life and will be missed by many. Prayers for all the family. ❤️

All of us kids growing up in Kingstree had nick names….Nose, Ape, Goofy, Podunk, Bony, Duck Doodle, Big Head, Daddy O,
Meat, Hop, Rex, and many more. Gene’s nickname was NOODLE. due to his tremendous love of Noodle Soup which he consumed two cans every day after school. Love and will miss you my friend. Rest in peace.
