On October 18, 2019, Mrs. Bobbie Jean Martin Stone changed her permanent address as she peacefully left this earthy life and awoke in her Heavenly home.  Mrs. Stone was born April 14, 1938, to the late Van Buren and Gertie Phipps Martin in Cades, SC.  She was married for 60 years to McIver “Red” Stone, who left us in 2016.  She worked at Warsaw Manufacturing, babysat children in her home and ministered to too many to count at the Ron McNair and Kingstree Nursing Homes.  She was a member of Kingstree Church of God where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir.  She never met a stranger no matter where she went and was always willing to talk, share her testimony, pray and sing.  If you were with her, you should be prepared too, because at any point you would have to share (no matter how nervous you were). She loved her family dearly and filled their days with unconditional love and laughter.  She was proud of each of them, always sharing their accomplishments and stories.  She was the family historian and kept all of the genealogical records.

She leaves the following family members to cherish her memory: children, Randy (Cathy)Stone and Sandy (Leland) Powell; grandchildren, Tonya (Russell) Yarborough, Jason (Mary Ann) Stone, Matthew (Cori) Stone, Amanda (Matt) Taylor, LeAnne Duckett (Jeremiah Burdette) and Justin Powell (Gina McKenzie); great-grandchildren, Joshua (Casey) Stone, Joy, Hannah and Phoebe Yarborough, Cassandra (Zachary) McDonald, Nicky (Britney) Richardson Jr., Patrick (Shelby) Richardson, Angel (Jonathan) Flagler, Hayden and Harrison Stone, Andrew, Kaelin, and Zachary Talbert, Nathan Taylor, Connor Duckett, Katelyn Powell and Mack McKenzie; and great-great grandchildren, Ethan Smith, Holden, Elliott, Colton and Shalynn Richardson, Cassidy and Morgan Flagler.  She also has many nieces, nephews, in-laws, friends and a special sister-in-law, Laura Mae Martin who will miss her dearly.   In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Rene Stone, and all siblings.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday, October 21, 2019, at Kingstree Church of God.  Mrs. Stone will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow at Kingstree First Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. 1. Brenda and Thurmond Ward

Bobbie Jean Stone was a good neighbor to my Mother, Virginia L. Thornton, for many years. They enjoyed discussing the Bible and praying together. Bobbie was always a good worker in Church. I know she is well now that she has experienced her home going. God bless and encourage the hearts of her family.
