Edward David McDonald, 71, husband of Elizabeth Proctor McDonald, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2020, in McLeod Hospice House.
Mr. McDonald was born February 25, 1949, in Williamsburg County, a son of the late Elijah Mack McDonald and Ruth Miles McDonald. He was a graduate of Kingstree High School and Florence Darlington Technical College where he received an associate degree in HVAC. Edward worked in HVAC for a few years and then retired from Williamsburg Regional Hospital after 42 years as director of maintenance. He was a member of The South Carolina Hospital Association for Engineers and Kingstree United Methodist Church. Edward loved spending time with his family and his dog Molly.
Surviving Mr. McDonald, in addition to his wife Elizabeth of the home, are: a daughter, Becky (Michel) Tyner, of Scranton; a step son, Ron M. (Stefanie) Joye, of Sumter; grandchildren, Rebecca Hudson and Clif McDonald; step grandchildren, Curt Joye, Trip Joye, Bailey Tyner, and Dylan Tyner; a brother, Ronald (Onita) McDonald, of Kingstree; sister in laws, Virginia McDonald and Jenny McDonald; and a brother in law, Leo Poitras.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Edward was preceded in death by a son, Ricky D. McDonald, sisters Ruth Poitras, Ernestine (Robert) Easler, and Elline (Ed) Cook; brothers, Roland McDonald, and Billy Joe McDonald.
