Maxine Farmer McKnight, 90, widow of Chandler McKnight, died Saturday, November 21, 2020, at Carlyle Senior Care of Kingstree.
Mrs. McKnight was born February 2, 1930, in Missouri, a daughter of the late Harmon and Lottie Giles Farmer. She attended Greeleyville High School. Maxine was a member of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church and was an avid gardener.
Surviving Mrs. McKnight are: two daughters, Lottie Ann McKnight, of Greeleyville and Linda Thomas of Sumter; a son, Reuben Chandler “Chip” (Melissa) McKnight; of Greeleyville; a brother, Richard (Denise) Farmer, of Charleston; two grandchildren, Reuben Charles (Marie) Disher, of Sumter and Brad (Brandi) Holladay of Manning; and 5 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Maxine was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Farmer and a sister, Peggy Sweat.
