Funeral Services
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM, Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at Williamsburg Presbyterian Church, with a burial to follow in Williamsburg Cemetery. Mr. Lloyd’s family will greet friends in Grace Hall beginning at 2 PM.

Lloyd Rudolph Lane, 85, husband of Mary Jean “Jeanie” Herbert Lane, died Friday, February 5, 2021, at his residence in Kingstree.
Mr. Lloyd was born September 17, 1935, in Kingstree, a son of the late Joseph Eston Lane and Sarah Laneigh “Sadie” Duke Lane Harrington. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. Mr. Lloyd was a graduate of Kingstree High School, Allen Hancock Junior College and attended the University of Southern California. He worked at Santee Oil Company and retired as Controller/CFO from Williamsburg County Memorial Hospital after 31 years. After retirement, he worked at Black River Health Care. Mr. Lane was a member of HFMA.
Mr. Lloyd was a member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church. In 2013, the church recognized Lloyd for his love of the church and his conscientious work on behalf of the church and bestowed the title of “Elder Emeritus” stating the following in a resolution: He served as a deacon from 1974 to 1983; since 1983 he served for 30 years as an elder and used his business expertise for 40 years as church treasurer, treating the church finances as carefully and compassionately as his own. He diligently and wisely served on the church’s Endowment Committee, the Grounds Improvement Committee, and the Pastor Nominating Committee. Mr. Lloyd participated in the Hands of Christ Ministry, Operation Christmas Child and every other ministry the church undertakes. He was a charter member and the first president of the Berean Sunday School Class.
Surviving Mr. Lloyd, in addition to his wife Jeanie are: his daughters, Cherilyn Regina “Gina” Lane (Aaron) Ottinger, of Cades; and Mary Margaret “Meg” Lane (Chris) Corley, of Pendleton; grandchildren, Emma Lane Corley, Logan James Corley and Aaron Blake “AJ” Ottinger, Jr.; sisters, Grace Lane Robinson and Carolyn Lane McConnell, of Kingstree; a brother, Joseph Eston Lane, Jr., of Kingstree; sister-in-law, Ruby Richburg Lane, of Florence; brother-in-law, Frederick Samuel (Patty) Herbert, Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Lloyd was preceded in death by a sister, Miriam Lane McCain; brothers, Emory Neil Lane and Charles Leon Lane and half-sisters, Marguerite Lane Young, Thella Mae Lane Kennedy, and Cathryn Lane Frierson.

I am so sad to hear of Lloyd’s passing! He was a true friend and inspiration to me with his loyal devotion to Williamsburg Presbyterian Church for many years! He will truly be missed!
