James Henry “Jim” Carver, 80, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, July 22, 2021 at The Meridian in Galveston, TX. Born January 15, 1941, he was the son of the late Jones Carver and Rachel Lyons Carver. He retired as CEO of Colonial Rubber. Jim was a member of First Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 30, 2021 beginning at 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Friday, July 30, 2021 at the First Baptist Church conducted by Reverend Josh Stone. Graveside services will be Monday, August 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Kingstree Memorial Gardens in Kingstree, SC.
He is survived by his son, James Henry Carver, Jr. (Jacqueline) of Galveston, TX; three grandchildren, William Evan Reynolds, James Clayton Reynolds, Sabrina Alyse Carver; one great-grandchild, Ann Mishoe Reynolds; one brother, Gerald Carver (Joy) of Virginia Beach, VA; many nieces and nephews and two grandchildren through extended family, Olivia Reynolds and Jeana Faye Reynolds.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Shirley Carver; and his daughter, Shelly Sabrina Carver Reynolds.
