Betty Ross “Betsy” Almond Haselden, 80, wife of the late James Alton Haselden, died Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at her daughter’s home in Summerville, SC.
Mrs. Haselden was born October 16, 1942, in Columbia, SC, a daughter of the late Betty Ross Almond and William Almond. She was a retired nurse. Betsy enjoyed cross-stitching, cooking, and gardening. She was a member of Kingstree Church of God.
Surviving Mrs. Haselden are: four daughters, Amy (John) Liebenrood of Summerville, SC, Kaye Emsley (Dean Dobson) of Piedmont, SC, and Vicki (Darby) Fulton and Denise (Billy) McKnight, both of Kingstree, SC; a sister, Julia (Joel) Martin of Charlotte; 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Haselden was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Luann Welch, 2 granddaughters, Gina Welch and Amanda McGee, and a grandson, Davey McKnight.

I am so sorry to hear of Mrs. Betsy’s passing. I have such fond memories of her from my teen-age years when she would spend countless hours supporting and chaperoning various events with the Marion High Band and Marching Foxes. She was a wonderful mentor to many of us coming through school in the 1970s and 80s. She will be greatly missed.
