A celebration of Dottie’s life will be held at 5 PM Monday, May 20, 2024, at Sandy Bay Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Visitation
Her family will greet friends at the church beginning one hour before the service and again following the service.
Dorothy Louise “Dottie” Thornhill Gause, 70, passed away peacefully in her home on May 18, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.
Ms. Gause was born in Georgetown, SC on November 13, 1953, a daughter of the late Bob Edward Thornhill and Reba Sauls Thornhill Keefe. She was a graduate of Williamsburg Academy and attended Williamsburg Technical College. Dottie retired from NanYa Plastics and was a former secretary to the Williamsburg County Supervisor. Dottie loved going to the beach, camping with her family, shopping, and especially spending time with her kids and grandkids. She was a member of Kingstree Church of God.
She is survived by: her daughters, Casey Gause (C.J. Jolly) of York, SC, Jessica (James) Colston of Oak Harbor, WA, and Brittany (Kevin) Carmon of Kingstree; grandchildren, Marleigh Carmon, Gabriel Carmon, and Paisley Colston as well as her honorary grandchildren, Noah Matthews and Raelyn Lee; her sister, Nancy T. Wilkes; her brother, Robert Thornhill; and former spouse, Ernest Gause. In addition to her parents, Dottie was preceded in death by her stepfather, Bill Keefe, and her niece Donna Wilkes Matthews.

I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Ms. Dottie. While I did not have the privilege of knowing her well, I know she was a valued member of our company and touched many lives with her presence.
Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends , and I hope you find strength and comfort in the memories you shared with her.

Prayers for my neice, Casey, and her sisters during this time of great loss. You were devoted to your mom and took good care of her throughout her illness. She is at rest now.

So sorry to hear of Mrs Dottie passing worked with her in the engineering office for many years always looked after me like I was her own loved her to death she will be dearly missed a loving and godly woman
Dottie was always such a lovely and Godly woman. Sending our love and keeping you all in our prayers. We can look forward to seeing Dottie again when our family is reunited in heaven.

I was saddened to hear about Dottie’s pass. We worked together at Nan Ya. Dottie was a sweet and gentle lady. She always had a smile on her face and we would often chat on the way from the parking lot. I am happy to know her family was her because she loved them dearly. She will be missed.
I love you Ms. Dottie! You were my favorite Sunday school teacher! I will never forget the milk and cookies and ice cream floats you used to give us kids and of course your kindness, sweet smile and laugh. I love you and I will see you again someday.
Dottie and her family are like family to us. We love her dearly and cherish the memories we have with her.
Dottie was a very special lady, she never saw wrong in anyone. She was and still Gods sent to everyone that crossed her path. She was more than a friend to me more like a sister by a different mother. I will surely miss you girl but will carry you everywhere I go in my heart..
Dottie was a sweet woman and good friend with a big heart. She will be missed by many at Nan Ya. So sorry for your loss, will be praying for you all.

Dottie was a very special woman! She had great faith and was never ashamed to share that faith and her miraculous testimony with anyone that she could. She was an amazing mama, and meemaw. Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye! She was my dear true and loyal friend for over 22 years. We spent a lot of time together over those years and shared many special times together! I will never forget the special bond that we had!
I love you buddy!! I know that you are resting easy now with Jesus and all your loved ones that have gone on before you! I will see you again one day and until then I will hold all our memories dear!

I was so sad to read of Dotties passing. Dottie was my 1st cousin, our daddies were brothers. We live so far apart ,but I have tried to keep up with her over the years . I was able to talk to her a few months ago, thanks to Brittany helping us reconnect . My love and prayers are with Robert and Nancy , her brother and sister , Brittany , her sisters and her family .
