Funeral Services
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Friday, February 13, 2026, at Williamsburg Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Tisdale Cemetery.
Visitation
Visitation will be at the Williamsburg Funeral Home on Thursday evening, February 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. The family will receive visitors at the Millwood Community Center after the graveside service.

Erma Jean Tisdale Brown, 88, wife of Wendell O. Brown, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, after an extended illness.

Mrs. Brown was born January 13, 1938, at Workman Crossroads in Williamsburg County, the daughter of the late Henry Lawrence Tisdale and Sallie Ora McCrea Tisdale. She grew up at Workman but also spent many happy years in the Central Community with her grandmother and her aunts and uncles, who doted on her. Mrs. Brown graduated from Kingstree High School in 1955 and from Winthrop College in 1960. She married Wendell in 1961. She taught in the public schools of Florence, Richland, and Williamsburg Counties, and retired from Williamsburg Academy. Mrs. Brown loved her students and followed their progress through the years clipping graduation, wedding, and birth announcements. She was a devoted daughter, caring for her parents through long illnesses. She was also a loving mother to Lawrence, Jamie, and Jean Marie.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband of 64 years, Wendell Orvin Brown of New Zion, SC, her sons, Wendell Lawrence Brown of West Columbia, SC and James Edward (Jodie) Brown of New Zion, SC, her daughter Jean Marie Brown of New Zion, SC, and her grandchildren Graeme Wright Minter and Olivia Jeanmarie Minter of Florence, SC.
