Mr. Donald Alexander “Donnie” Tisdale, 86, husband of Elise Parker Tisdale, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at Commander Nursing Home in Florence.

Mr. Tisdale was born February 29, 1928, in Williamsburg County, a son of the late James Alexander Tisdale and Eva Cantley Tisdale. He attended Williamsburg County schools and was a farmer. Mr. Tisdale was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son D. LaRue Tisdale, Sr. and a great granddaughter Katie Tisdale.

Surviving, in addition to Elise, his wife of 67 years, are: his daughter, Jenny (Harold) Lawrimore, of Hemingway; grandchildren, Donald LaRue (Molly) Tisdale, Jr., of Kingstree and Elisia (Gary) Hodge, of Andrews, Kory Cartwright, of Lake City, and Ryan (Ann) Cartwright, of Florence, and Faith (J.P.) Truesdale, of Hemingway; great grandchildren, Alex and Lee Scott, Jake, Analise, and Lucy Truesdale, and Jacob & Katelyn Cartwright; and a brother, L. Bruce Tisdale, of NC.

Graveside funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday, September, 11, 2014, in Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
