Corene Marie Johnson Coker, 77, widow of Earl J. Coker, passed away at home Sunday, October 12, 2014.
Mrs. Coker was born March 16, 1937, in Aynor, SC, a daughter of the late William Ladon Johnson and Leila Jane Alford. She attended Aynor Schools and was a homemaker. Corene was a member of the United Methodist Church of Turbeville. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son Andrew J. Coker, a sister, Allene Gasque, and a brother J.D. Johnson.
Surviving are: her children Jeanette (Sammy) Brown, of Kingstree, Robert D. Coker, of Kingstree, and Annette (Darin) Uptagrafft, of Santee; three grandchildren, Ashley Rutter and Eric Uptagrafft, of Sumter, and Kathryn Brown, of Kingstree; one step grandchild, Lisa Miles, of Kingstree; three great grandchildren, Grace Uptagrafft, Darin Rutter, and Rebecca Uptagrafft, all of Sumter; two step great grandchildren, Abigail Miles and Hannah Miles, of Kingstree; one brother; James Clio Johnson, of Roebuck, SC; and three sisters, Mary Jane (Jerry) McLeod , of Aynor, Addie Mae (Robert) Cribb, of Roebuck, Betty Jean (David) Strickland, of Nichols, SC
