McNeil Marion Frye, 72, husband of Danette Livingston Frye, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016, in Carolinas Hospital System in Florence.

Mr. Frye was born May 19, 1944, in Williamsburg County, a son of Lucille Wise Frye and the late Mac Leon Frye. He was a graduate of Kingstree Senior High and Columbia Commercial College. Mr. McNeil was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from Farmers Telephone after 30 years. He was a member of Kingstree United Methodist Church, American Legion Billy Britton Post #8, and Kingstree Masonic Lodge #46 AFM.  He enjoyed transferring cars for Longstreet Chevrolet and loved his grandchildren.

Surviving Mr. Frye, in addition to his mother, Lucille and his wife, Danette, both of Kingstree, are: his daughter April M. (Donnie) McDonald, of Cades, 3 granddaughters, Nicole McDonald, Olivia M. (Alex) Richburg, and Dixie McDonald, 1 great-granddaughter, Joanna Richburg, 1 brother, Donald (Delane) Frye, of Blythwood, and sister-in-law, Janice Frye, of Kingstree. Mr. McNeil was preceded in death by his son Danny Frye and a brother, Bobby Frye.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM Saturday, December 3, 2016, at Kingstree United Methodist Church, with a burial in Kingstree Memorial Gardens. Rev. William Steve Hughes, husband of Sharon Johnson (Sheri) Hughes passed away Monday November 28, 2016.

Mr. Hughes was born July 28, 1944 in Hemingway, SC, a son of the late Sarvis Cortez and Pattie Haselden Hughes.  Steve retired from Carolina Power and Light and was a minister in the United Methodist Church.  He served both Cades United Methodist and Cameron United Methodist churches from 1986 to 2007 and was presently serving Old Johnsonville United Methodist Church.  Steve loved the people of these churches and was thankful for their friendship.  In addition to his churches, Steve preached to the painters and repair people who came to his house, people he met on the street, and almost anybody else he came into contact with.

Steve enjoyed fishing with his children, his wife and neighbors, napping during the Sunday race, and a Pepsi Cola with a pack of crackers. Steve had an uplifting story, a joke, or a motivating anecdote for all occasions, and he was known rarely to repeat the same story twice. After moving to Surfside Beach, Steve doted on his 6^th child, his puppy Daisy.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Sheri are his daughter, Kayce Halstead (Clay), of Mt. Pleasant, four sons Cory Hughes (Ginny),of Greenville, Joel Hughes (Allison),  Joshua Hughes, and Caleb Hughes, all of Columbia, five grandchildren, Henry, Elgin, Cohen, Holland, and Lena, sister Patricia Strong, of Arkansas, and his special neighbor and friend, Shannon Haunold.  He was preceded in death by his brother Cortez and sisters, Walton and Lula Ree.

Raymond Allen Powell, 52, husband of Pamela Echols Powell, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016, in McLeod Hospice House in Florence.

Mr. Powell was born January 7, 1964, in Florence, a son of Nora W. Smith and the late Marvin “Sleepy” Powell. He attended Kingstree Senior High and was retired from Milliken Co. Raymond was a member of Sandy Bay Pentecostal Holiness Church and loved hunting and fishing, especially in Black River.

Surviving Mr. Powell, in addition to his mother, Nora Smith, and his wife, Pamela E. Powell, both of Kingstree, are: his stepfather, H.B. Smith, of Kingstree; his daughter, Samantha (Scott) Lee, of Cades; his son, Joshua (Brittany) Powell, of Cades; stepsons, Vernon W. Wise, of Texas and Matthew A. (Claire) Wise, of Kingstree; sisters, Malinda Threatt, of Chester and Johnnie Sue Hartman, of Lancaster; brother, Randy Powell, of Chester; and 13 grandchildren.

Born January 2, 1920, in Fairfax, South Carolina to Barthwell C. Harter and Pollie Williams Harter, Russell Woodrow Harter was the beloved husband of the late Eugenia Allen Harter.

Russell graduated from Winyah High School in Georgetown, South Carolina. After serving in the United States Navy during World War II on aircraft carrier USS Long Island, he and Eugenia moved to Charleston and had one son, Russell W. Harter, Jr. Russell was a Scoutmaster for Troop 9 at Ashley River Baptist Church, and he worked for Exxon until he retired in 1976, when he moved to a farm in Salters, South Carolina. He was an avid outdoorsman and handyman. He was a member of the Carolina Terrace Hunting Club, in Charleston, South Carolina, the Parrott Hunting Club, the Bryant Hunting Club, and the Russell W. Harter, Sr. Hunting Club in Salters, South Carolina.

Russell opened his home to people and animals of all kinds. He spent his last few years building blue bird boxes that have traveled to homes near and far. Russell shared his wisdom and many stories from his front porch swing.

Russell was a member of the Spring Gulley Baptist Church in Andrews, South Carolina and also regularly attended Union Presbyterian Church in Salters, South Carolina.

Russell was a devoted Christian, husband, father, granddaddy, and friend. He lived a joyful and full life and will be missed immensely. Those who cherish him most feel peace in knowing he is with the Lord and reunited with those who went before him including the many dogs he befriended throughout his life.

Russell is survived by his only son, Russell “Rusty” W. Harter, Jr. and wife Cathy of Greenville, South Carolina; three grandchildren Russell W. Harter, III and wife Leanne of Florence, South Carolina; Rhett Harter and wife Jodi of Charleston, South Carolina; Carly Davis and husband Kyle of Greenville, South Carolina. In addition, Russell is also survived by a crew of good looking Great Granddaughters: Cailan, Ansley, and Rileigh of Florence; Addie of Charleston; and Savannah of Greenville; two son-in-laws Stuart and Julie Franklin and Brent and Pam Franklin also of Greenville, South Carolina; In addition, Russell is survived by his best friend, Oscar and many other extended family members

In addition to his wife and parents, Russell was predeceased by his sister, Mae Britton, brother Olin C. Harter, and daughter-in-law Cynthia Franklin Harter.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday November 26, 2016, at the Williamsburg Funeral Home, 332 E. Main Street, Kingstree, South Carolina 29556. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Live Oak Memorial Gardens in Charleston, South Carolina.

Mr. David Montague Jacobs, 71, husband of Carmela Scaffidi “Candy” Jacobs, passed away Friday, November 18, 2016, at his residence.

Mr. Jacobs was born January 15, 1945, in Kingstree, SC, a son of the late Louis Terrell Jacobs and Lois McGill Gregg Jacobs. David attended Kingstree High School and was a veteran of the US Navy, where he played the drums in the Bugle Corps. David taught Auto Mechanics at F.E. DuBose Vocational School for 27 years. He was the secretary of Wee Tee Hunting Club. David loved the outdoors and was an advocate for the land, especially land in Williamsburg County. He considered the Santee River to be his second home. He was passionate about ensuring that the natural resources we have today are here for future generations.  David was a member of Kingstree Presbyterian Church. He loved his family dearly and especially enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren.

Surviving, in addition to his wife Candy, are 2 sons, Terry (Dana) Jacobs, of Effingham, and Angelo (Dawn) Jacobs, of Lane; sister, Banna Lou Jacobs (Michael) Leeson, of Florence; and 6 grandchildren, Michael, Morgan, Kaylyn, Sydney, Carmela, and Sophia. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a son, David Montague Jacobs II.

Mr. Paul Evan Wilder, Sr., 80, husband of Shirley Harris Wilder, died Saturday, November 5, 2016, at his residence.

Mr. Wilder was born May 2, 1936 in Maine, a son of the late Evan Adam and Eula Kissee Wilder. He worked as a mower operator for SC Department of Transportation. He was a veteran of the US Air Force.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Shirley H. Wilder, of Cades; two sons, Paul E. (Rachele) Wilder, Jr., of Kingstree, Anthony Bonneau Wilder, of Kingstree; two sisters, Lorraine Hays, of Oregon, Racheal Baranuk, of Phoenix, AR; brother, Frank Wilder, of Indianapolis, IN; and two grandchildren, Michael and Baylee Wilder, both of Kingstree.

Mr. Louis Wilbur “Johnny” Feagin, 79, widower of Madge Gibbons Feagin, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016, in Williamsburg Regional Hospital ER.

Mr. Feagin was born October 1, 1937, in Kingstree, a son of the late Colon McRoy Feagin and Louise Parker Feagin. Johnny attended Williamsburg County Schools and operated Feagin Brothers Builders with his brother Russell for over 50 years. He was a veteran of the US Navy and a member of Kingstree First Baptist Church. Johnny enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving Mr. Feagin are: his son, Scott (Angela) Feagin, of Salters; his daughter, Laura Jones, of Salters; brother, Russell D. (Beth) Feagin, of Kingstree; sisters, Ola Mae (Bill) Young, of Lake City and Lorraine Lambert, of Georgetown; 5 grandchildren, Kristen, Hannah, Mara, Luke, and Maggie; and special friend, Diane Graham. In addition to his wife and parents, Johnny was preceded in death by a brother, Ollie Ray Feagin and a sister, Cora Lee Davis.

Mr. Alan Earl Richardson, 74, of Kingstree, formerly of Hanahan, SC, died Monday morning, October 24, 2016, at his residence.

Mr. Richardson was born September 3, 1942 in Bennettsville, SC, a son of the late Edward Clyde and Mary Byrd Richardson. He worked as a railroad foreman most of his life until moving to Kingstree where he worked at Kingstree Markette. He enjoyed fishing, wood-working, yard work, racing, being a member of the Shriners, his cat Sissy, and especially the Carolina Gamecocks.

Surviving in addition to his son, Kenneth Allen Richardson, of Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Margaret R. Malphrus, of Moncks Corner and Betty (Dale) Orvin, of St. Stephen; three brothers, Billy (Sue) Richardson, of Arkansas, Jimmy (Jane) Richardson, of Kingstree, and Danny Richardson, of Columbia. Alan was preceded in death by his sisters, Joan R. Bragg and Yvonne R. Jones; his brothers, C. Eugene Richardson and Harvey E. Richardson.

Mrs. Pauline Napier Gray, 63, wife of Roger Gray, died Friday, September 30, 2016, at her residence in Florence.

Mrs. Gray was born July 30, 1953 in Indiana, a daughter of the late Wade Lee Napier and Hazel Grigsby Schelske. Before moving to Florence, she was the deli manager at Piggly Wiggly in Kingstree for 26 years.

Surviving in addition to her husband, Roger, of Florence are: 3 daughters, Tonya (Mac) McElveen of New Zion; Brittany (Josh) Powell, of Cades; and Melanie (Justin) McCutchen, of Kingstree; Step-sons, Clyde (Yolanda) Gray, of Ohio; Jessi (Caitlyn) Gray, of Florence; a brother, Kenny Schleske, of Alabama; a sister, Lois Phillips, of Indiana, 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Mrs. Gertrude Lutz Stewart, 90, widow of Sammie K. Stewart, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2016, at her home in Kingstree.

     Mrs. Stewart was born January 8, 1926, in Germany, a daughter of the late Xaver Lutz and Kreszentia Lutz. She was a high school graduate and a home maker. Mrs. Gertrude enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren, gardening, camping and was an avid animal lover.

     Surviving Mrs. Stewart is: her daughter, Sheila Stewart (Steven) Brown, of Kingstree; and her granddaughters, Sydney Brown (Jonathan) Daniels, of Coward; and Kayla Brown, of Kingstree.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Gertrude was preceded in death by a daughter, Belinda M. Stewart.

Justin Ross “Juicy” Williams, 28, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016, in Kingstree, from injuries sustained in an ATV accident.

Mr. Williams was born January 21, 1988, in Georgetown, a son of Claude R. Williams and Jodie Eason Williams. He was a 2006 graduate of Williamsburg Academy and received a civil engineering degree from Midlands Tech in 2010. He owned and operated Complete Utilities. Justin was an avid fisherman and duck hunter on Black River and the lakes and enjoyed spending time with his friends and his dogs Jenna and Bendie Sue. He was a committee member of the Kingstree Chapter of Ducks Unlimited.

Surviving Mr. Williams are: his father, Claude R.  Williams and stepmother, Kim Williams, of New Zion; mother, Jodie Eason Williams and step father Bubba Cantley, of Kingstree; sisters, Suzanne Williams (Danny) Chavis, of Alcolu; Amber Cantley and Hannah Cantley, of Kingstree; grandmother La Rita Gaster; aunt, Kathy Powell; uncle, Ricky (Sharon) Powell, girlfriend, Caroline Birchler and cousins, John Powell, Josh and Adam Powell, Blake Miller, and Ryan Williams Doonan. Justin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Janice P. Eason, grandfather Larry Williams, uncles, Johnny Eason and Lance Williams, and an aunt, Carla Miller.

Mr. George Franklin “Frank” Oliver, 74, husband of Carol LaFever Oliver, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016, at his home in Greeleyville.

Mr. Oliver was born October 10, 1941, in Greeleyville, a son of the late Marion Lynwood Oliver and Bernice Alsbrooks Oliver. He was a graduate of Greeleyville High School and was the assistant manager of Longlands Plantation. Mr. Oliver was a member of Greeleyville United Methodist Church.

Surviving Mr. Oliver, in addition to his wife Carol, of Greeleyville, are: his son, Johnny (Shana) Cross, of Sumter, of Sumter; 4 grandchildren, Chase Cross, Clayton Merritt, Emily Cross, and Heather Merritt; ; 2  brothers, Jack (Mary Ellen) Oliver, of Greeleyville and Charles (Barbara) Oliver, of Moncks Corner; 3 sisters, Eunice (Jimmy) Reardon, of Moncks Corner, Gladys (Bob) Sebek, of Charlotte, and Liz (Roy) Cantey, of Salters. John Wesley “Buzzy” Disher, Sr., 60, husband of Irene Kinard Disher, passed away August 25, 2016, at Carolinas Hospital System.

Mr. Disher was born October 15, 1955, in Kingstree, a son of the late Jean Morris Disher Evans. He attended public school in Williamsburg and Clarendon Counties. “Buzzy” was the assistant Tax Assessor in Williamsburg County and was a member of Kingstree Moose Lodge.

Surviving in addition to his wife Irene, of Kingstree, are: sons, John Wesley (Theresa) Disher, Jr., of Greeleyville; and Mark Christopher Disher (Marie Patterson), of Kingstree; sisters, Dottie (Donald) Goins, of Mayesville; Barbara (Ron) Garrick, of Florence; Peggy McCutcheon, of Cades; and  Ginger (Jerry) Mouzon, of Kingstree; a brother, David (Rose) Evans, of New Zion; six grandchildren, Nikkolas Dodge, Brittney Webb, Tyler Powell, DJ Gauthier, John Mark Disher, and Leia Ann Disher; many nieces and nephews; his good friend Billy Stackly and brother in-law Danny Ray Mixon.

In addition to his mother, “Buzzy” was preceded in death by a brother, William “Bill” Edward Evans.

John Pressley “Johnny” Mouzon, Jr., 66, widower of Mary Alice Mouzon, passed away August 13, 2016, at his residence.

Mr. Mouzon was born September 30, 1949, in Columbia, a son of Alice B. Panter and the late John Pressley Mouzon, Sr. He was a graduate of Richland County schools and was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. Johnny was a carpenter at Feagin Brothers and was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church of Kingstree.

Surviving in addition to his mother Alice B. Panter, of Columbia, are: a daughter, Melissa Mouzon (Edward McFadden); 3 step children he loved as his own, Janet Marie Mouzon, Eddie Hayes and John Ray, all of Kingstree; 6 grandchildren, Alyssa M. (Joseph) Halpin, of Sumter; Allen Smith Jr.; Edward McFadden, Jr. , both of Kingstree; Kristy Elaine Hayes, of Timmonsville; Rebecca (Billy) Yates, of Olanta; and Danielle Black , of Kingstree; 5 great grandchildren, Serenity Halpin, of Sumter, Abbigail Yates and William Yates of Olanta; and Tyler Augusta Hayes, of Timmonsville; a nephew he loved as his grandson, Austin Serrato, of Kingstree; 3 sisters, Bonnie (Gary) Roberts, of Columbia; Sally Dowding, of Columbia; and  Alice Rita (David) Fudge, of West Columbia; many nieces and nephews he loved dearly and special friends, Russell Feagin, Bubba Feagin, Ron Feagin, Al Atkinson, Andre Feagin and Scott Feagin.

In addition to his wife and father, Johnny was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Mouzon, two sisters, Cheryl Wood and Loretta Long and a step father Jack Panter.

Rosemary Law Rogers, 77, wife of James L. “Jimmy” Rogers, Jr., passed away August 11, 2016, in McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.

Mrs. Rogers was born February 5, 1939, in Columbia, a daughter of the late Louie Lochiel Law and Edna Broughton Law. She finished Holly Hill High School and was a graduate of Winthrop University and received her Masters in Education from Francis Marion University. She retired after having taught for 33 years at Williamsburg Academy, Kingstree Senior High, C.E. Murray and Manning High School. Rosemary was an avid reader and a lifelong Sunday school teacher at Kingstree Presbyterian Church, where she was very involved in PCA Women in the Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband Jimmy, are: a daughter, Rosanne Rogers Braswell, of Clinton; a son, James L. “Lew” (Michelle) Rogers, III, of North Charleston; four grandchildren, Stephanie Braswell, Jonathan Braswell, both of Clinton; Ashley Rogers, of Columbia; and Michael Rogers, of North Charleston.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Rogers and a brother, Alex Law.

Ona Wise Johnson Quattlebaum, 96, of Kingstree, passed away on August 10, 2016, at McLeod Hospice House after a brief illness. She was born in Windsor, S.C. on September 30, 1919, to Thomas Allen Johnson and Leona Wise Johnson.  She was married to Drayton Radzwell Quattlebaum for 57 years until his death in 1998.  She is survived by her daughters, Dianne Quattlebaum Brown (Marshall) and Kathleen Quattlebaum Pippin (Michael), granddaughter, Mary Ashton Brown Mills(Matthew), great grandchildren, Anne Marshall Mills, and Matthew Langley Mills. Walter Everett Moore, Jr., 92, widower of Florence LeRoy Prevatte Moore, passed away August 7, 2016, in McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.

Mr. Moore was born March 26, 1924, in Williamsburg County, a son of the late Walter Everett Moore, Sr. and Creola Cooper Moore Hancock. He attended Williamsburg High School, graduated from Manning High School and was a WW II veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served on LST 288 in the European Theatre, North Africa and the Pacific Theatre. Mr. Moore landed on Omaha Beach on D Day and was one of the last surviving crew members of LST 288. For many years he was a mechanic at Rogers Motor Company and retired after 22 years of teaching Shop and Industrial Arts in Clarendon County Schools. Mr. Moore was a member of Mount Vernon United Methodist Church. He loved watching NASCAR and Braves baseball and was very proud of his military service.

Surviving Mr. Moore are: a daughter, Marilyn Moore (Clinton) Crick, of Kingstree; a son, Walter Everett Moore, III, of Kingstree; 4 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; a sister, Carolyn M. Williams, of Kingstree; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife LeRoy and his parents, Mr. Moore was preceded in death by a brother, David W. Moore, Sr. and 2 sisters, Betty M. Brown and Joyce M. Lybrand.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, August 10, 2016, in Kingstree Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Charlotte Miers Thompson, 62, widow of Ralph LaRoy Thompson, Jr., died August 3, 2016, in McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.

Mrs. Thompson was born December 27, 1953, in Hopewell, VA, a daughter of the late Clay Marvin Miers and Joy Ann Hodges. Charlotte grew up on the historic Brandon Plantation in Prince George County, VA and was a graduate of Hermitage High School in Virginia. She was a 10 year veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as a Staff Sergeant in Germany, Okinawa and several U.S. bases. After the military, she received an Associates Degree from Williamsburg Technical College and worked with Felkel and Associates and Tri County Gin as an administrative assistant. She volunteered with Williamsburg Cares and tutored children at the International Baptist Mission in Kingstree. Charlotte was an avid collector of Legos and used these collections to connect with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and other crafts.

Survivors are: her son, Paul Anthony Thompson and his fiancé Julie Shahon, of Kingstree; two brothers, Robert C. (Donna) Miers, of Prince George County, VA and Homer H. Miers, of Henrico, VA; two grandsons, Dylan Hartgrove and Dezmund Thompson, both of Lexington; two step sons, Benjamin Edward Thompson and Michael Scott Thompson, both of Columbia; and an aunt and uncle, Peggy and Graham Hodges, of TN.

Graveside services will be held 11 AM Monday, August 8, 2016, in Florence National Cemetery in Florence, SC. Dr. Walter Carlisle Cottingham, 83, husband of Mary Elizabeth DuBose “Beth” Cottingham, passed away peacefully Monday, July 25, 2016, in Tidelands Hospice House in Georgetown, SC.

Dr. Cottingham was born October 29, 1932, in Trio, SC, a son of the late Mitchell C. Cottingham and Mary Cole Cottingham Boyd. He was a 1954 graduate of Clemson University, where he was a member of the Pershing Rifles, the Tiger Brotherhood and the Senior Drill Platoon. After graduation from Clemson, Walter served our country for 2 years in the Army Quartermaster Corps. In August of 1958, he married the love of his life Beth, and they moved to Athens, GA, home of the University of Georgia, where Walter received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1961. That same year they moved to Kingstree and established the Cottingham Veterinary Hospital.

Walter was an active member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church and had served as a deacon there. He was a member of the SC Association of Veterinarians, and, in 1984, he began a three year term on the Advisory Board for Foreign Animals and Poultry, reporting to The Secretary of Agriculture in Washington D.C. That same year he was recognized as Veterinarian of the Year by SCAV, and in 1986, served as president of SCAV. He was named Distinguised Veterinarian of the Year in 2010 by the SC Association of Veterinarians.

Dr. Cottingham was a former director of The Exchange Bank of Kingstree and was on the Board of Directors for First Citizens Bank. He was an IPTAY member, and for many years was the Williamsburg County Representative of that organization. He was a Life Member of the Clemson Alumni Association and a former member of the State Board of Veterinary Examiners. In 2013, Dr. Cottingham was the recipient of The Lifetime Achievement Award from The Williamsburg Hometown Chamber, and in June of 2016, he was the guest of honor at Williamsburg Regional Hospital Foundation’s first “Williamsburg County Dancing with the Stars”

Because of their belief that education is key to success, he and his wife Beth have established scholarships at Coker College, Williamsburg Technical College, Clemson University, and the University of Georgia Veterinary School.

Surviving Dr. Cottingham, in addition to his wife Beth, are: sisters, Margaret (Fritz) Smith, of Kingstree and Marilyn (Tom) Summers, of Columbia; brothers, Mitchell Cottingham, of Manning and Elton Cottingham, of Sumter; 16 nieces and nephews, including special nephews, Brian (Mary) Smith, of Georgetown and Preston Smith, of New York, NY. In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by: brothers, J.D., Wallace, and Sam Cottingham; sisters, Juanita Gordon and Doris McCants; and two nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Friday, July 29, 2016, in Williamsburg Presbyterian Church. Dr. Cottingham’s family will receive friends following the service in Grace Hall. Sybil McAlister McClary, 83, widow of Jack McClary, passed away Monday, July 18, 2016, in McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.

Mrs. McClary was born September 21, 1932, in Hemingway, SC, a daughter of the late Charles Betts McAlister, Sr. and Ludie Ward McAlister. She was a graduate of Hemingway High School, where she was an award winning basketball player and she continued her love of sports after her marriage to Jack as a member of the Ladies Softball League in Millwood. “Miss Sybil” was a Belk Department Store employee and manager for 32 years and kept a warm, loving home for her family and her extended family. She was a much loved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law and aunt.

Surviving Mrs. McClary are: her sons, Russell (Karen) McClary, of Kingstree and Glenn McClary, of Surfside Beach; 7 grandchildren, Danielle McClary Cox, Lee R. McClary, Danielle Foxworth, Devan McClary, Dylan McClary, Marshall McClary, and Mary Paige McClary; 6 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. McClary was preceded in death by brothers, Joe, Billy, Ray, Charles, and Therrell McAlister; sisters, Blanche M. Reddish, Travis McAlister, and Mavis M. Brown; a son, Danny McAlister McClary; and a grandson John Ross McClary.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, July 20, 2016, in McClary Cemetery. Mrs. McClary’s family will receive friends at Millwood Community House following the graveside service.
