Samuel Kelly Williamson, 24, husband of Hannah Hatch Williamson died Tuesday, November 17, 2015.
Mr. Williamson was born November 20, 1990, in Florence, a son of Al and Pam Godwin Williamson. He was a graduate of Williamsburg Academy and Clemson University. He was employed by Crop Production Services in Kingstree and was a member of Kingstree United Methodist Church. Kelly loved talking with his friends and family and enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, playing guitar, song writing, playing golf, all things to do with farming and playing games. Kelly was preceded in death by his grandfathers Sammy Godwin and Bubba Williamson.
Surviving are his wife Hannah Hatch Williamson; his parents Al and Pam Williamson; his brother Tripp Williamson; his sister Meg Williamson; his grandmothers Judy Godwin and Davyne Williamson; his father and mother in law, Randy and Sara Hatch; and his brother in law, Zach Hatch.

Myrtis Elba Eaddy Hanna, 91, widow of John David Hanna, Sr., passed away Friday, November 6, 2015, at her residence.
Mrs. Hanna was born July 26, 1924, in Marion, SC, a daughter of the late Willard T. Eaddy and Carie Norton Eaddy. She was a nurse assistant at Kelley Memorial Hospital and a housewife. She was a member of Spring Gulley Baptist Church and Women’s Missionary Union. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Hanna was preceded in death by a son John David Hanna, Jr., her brothers, Willard T. Eaddy Jr., and Goldwyn S. Eaddy, and a sister Rutha Lee Parker.
Surviving are: her sons, George W. (Barbara) Hanna and Charles H. (Sharon) Hanna; 10 grandchildren, Debra H.(Eugene) Tisdale, John (Tonya) Hanna, George A. Hanna, David (Kassie) Hanna, Annie (Ronald) Newton, Julie Hanna, Jason (April) Grubb, Dr. Sharon (Tom) Streeter, Susan (Chuck) Christ and Catherine Hanna; 14 great grandchildren, Dustin Tisdale, John Tisdale, David Hanna, Jr., TJ Hanna, Christin Newton, Brandon Christ, Joseph Christ, Cassie Wright, Carley Wright, Loyd Bone Jr., Kaitlin Grubb, Jason Grubb, Chloe Streeter and Hannah Streeter; her sister, Eula Chalk, Macy Guy, Myra Smith, Juanita (Dan) Epps and Nell Morris; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Richard Craig Johnson, 68, of Greeleyville, husband of Janice Johnson, passed away Friday, October 16, 2015, in MUSC in Charleston.
Mr. Johnson was born December 27, 1946, in Philadelphia, PA, a son of the late David Fury Johnson and Eleanor Ashton Johnson. He was a graduate of Penncrest High School in Lima, PA and was a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Johnson was a custom cabinet-maker who had his own business, Harvest Moon, and he worked at Sumter Lumber Company for 20 years. He was a member of the American Legion, and a former assistant Scout leader. Richard was an artist, a sculptor, and enjoyed playing the guitar. He loved the outdoors, especially Black River. Richard loved his family and loved to help others. He attended Rhems Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife Janice Johnson, are: his 2 daughters, Barbara (Harry) Weatherford, of Georgetown and Carolyn (Mark) Chisenhall, of Greenwood, DE; 9 grandchildren, Kelly Small, Catherine McLean, Jonathan Weatherford, Savannah Weatherford, Hannah, Holly, Emily, Luke, & Matthew Chisenhall; 2 great grandchildren, Charlie Small and Jackson McLean; a sister, Debra Johnson, of Gastonia, NC; 2 brothers, Michael Johnson, of Hawkinsville, GA and David Lee Johnson, of King of Prussia, PA; and a nephew, Raymond (Anna) Murray, of Greenwood, DE. The family would like to thank his caregiver Lynn Powell for her wonderful service to him.

Glen Darnell “Don” Duke, 60, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2015. Mr. Duke was born April 21, 1955 in Clarendon County, and was the son of Sadie Roberson Duke and the late Melvin Albertus Duke. He was a graduate of East Clarendon High School and received an Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering from Williamsburg Technical College. He loved being in the outdoors and playing guitar and singing.
Surviving in addition to his mother, Sadie, of New Zion, are his son, Cory Darnell (Katherine) Duke, of Lake City; his daughter, Jessica Duke (Will) Brown, of Kingstree; 3 brothers, Steve (Robin) Duke, of Hartsville; Lyn Duke, of Florence; and Terrell Duke, of New Zion; 1 sister, Shirlene Duke Blanton, of Florence. Mr. Duke was preceded in death by his father and his brother Richard Duke.

Mrs. Bell was born July 26, 1929, in Olanta, a daughter of the late Franklin Carl Cole and Elizabeth McFadden Cole. She was a graduate of Olanta High School. Mrs. Pearl retired after 32 years of service from Baxter Travenol and was a member of Lane United Methodist Church.

Adelle Ward Gamble, 82, widow of Thomas D. Gamble, passed away Monday, August 31, 2015, in Prince George Healthcare Center in Georgetown.
Mrs. Gamble was born September 17, 1932, in Florence County, a daughter of the late Lamar Ward and Lucille Lowder Ward. She was a retired employee of Baxter Travenol and was a member of Mount Vernon United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband Tommy and her parents, Mrs. Gamble was preceded in death by a daughter Frances Elizabeth “Betsy” Gamble and a brother LaJoe Ward.
Surviving are: her daughters, Barbara G. Mr. Smith was born August 13, 1930, in Kingstree, a son of the late Sam David Smith, Sr. and Italy Feagin Smith. He was a graduate of Andrews High School. Stark was a farmer, an electrician and a member of I.B.E.W in Charleston. He was a Shriner, Deacon of Bloomingvale Baptist Church, and a Past Master of Harper’s Masonic Lodge #225 in Andrews. He was an avid football fan and fisherman. In addition to his parents and his wife, Stark is preceded in death by a brother Sam David Smith, Jr. and a sister Martha Ann Aurand.

Mrs. Tarte was born October 13, 1932, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late J.E. McClary and Wilma Strong McClary. She was a graduate of Kingstree High School and Columbia Business College, and was a long time employee of Department of Social Services in Williamsburg County. Libby was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Florence.
Surviving are: a son, Glenn (Joni) Tarte, of Florence; a daughter, Lisa Tarte, of Prosperity; granddaughter, Erin Olivia McEachin, of Florence; grandsons, “Tripp” Love, of Conway and Derick and Kyle Love, of Kingstree; and a great granddaughter Ivy Love. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Tarte was preceded in death by a daughter Ivy Tarte Love Buddin.

Rhonda McCants Ward, 39, of Kingstree, SC, wife of Johnny H. Ward, Jr., passed away October 28, 2015, at Tidelands Community Hospice House in Georgetown, SC. Despite battling Triple Negative Breast Cancer for one year, Rhonda’s cheerfulness, spirit, and spunk never faltered. Mrs. Ward was born December 22, 1975, in Georgetown, SC, a daughter of Michael McCants and the late Ann Jenell Singleton. She was a graduate of Georgetown High School and was employed by Whetstone, Perkins, and Fulda Law Office. Rhonda attended Kingstree First Baptist Church and was very active in the Williamsburg Academy Parent Teacher Organization for many years. Everyone who knew Rhonda could attest to her beauty, courage, and her love for her boys.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 20 years, Johnny Ward, are: her sons, Johnny H. “Tripp” Ward, III, Tate, Teague, and Tanner Grey Ward, all of Kingstree; her father and step mother, Mike and Carla McCants, of Murrells Inlet; her grandmother, Annie Laura McCants, of Georgetown; a sister, Angela (Darrell) Gibson, of Sampit; brother, David (Renee) McCants, of Georgetown; step brother, Robert Orr, of Murrells Inlet; and a very special “Granny”, Diane Graham, of Kingstree. Rhonda had many cousins, nieces and nephews who were special to her. In addition to her mother, Rhonda was preceded in death by her grandfather, Olin J. McCants and maternal grandparents Harry Singleton and Virginia Singleton.

Julius Wayne Seeger, 64, died October 13, 2015 at his home in Clayton,NC.
Julius was born on March 12, 1951 in Charleston, SC to Billy Frank and the late Virginia Nexsen Seeger. Julius served in the United States Army and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He attended the University of South Carolina and then worked at various business endeavors that he owned and operated. A unique soul, Julius was passionate about life, family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Donna T. Seeger of Kingstree and a son Jason Seeger of Rock Hill, SC and a step-son Ken Vause and two grandchildren Destiny and Kenneth Vause of Georgetown, SC. Julius is also survived by his father, Billy Frank Seeger of Mt. Pleasant, SC, a brother, Ed Seeger of Mt. Pleasant, SC and a sister, Cheryl Seeger Hall of Benson, NC and many nieces and nephews.

Clarence Edward Harrington, 80, husband of Nell W. Harrington, passed away October 6, 2015, at McLeod Hospice House in Florence. Mr. Harrington was born November 8, 1934, in Williamsburg County, and was the surviving child of the late Samuel Buren Harrington, Sr., and Lizzie Idell H. Harrington. A graduate of East Clarendon High School, he enjoyed 60 years as a snack food salesman and retired one month prior to his 80th birthday. He served in the National Guard and was a member of the Kingstree United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Black River Hunting Club and the Kingstree Hardee’s Breakfast Bunch.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 61 years, Nell, of the home, are his daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Felix McLellan, Jr., of Dillon, and his beloved granddaughter, Elizabeth McLellan of Columbia. He is also survived by in-laws, nieces and nephews, and their families. Mr. Harrington was preceded in death by his sister and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 11th, at 3 p.m., at the Kingstree United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Saturday, October 10th, from 4-6 p.m., at Williamsburg Funeral Home in Kingstree, with burial in Kingstree Memorial Gardens. Wylma Anne Wates passed away September 5, 2015 at the age of 87. Miss Wates was born January 4, 1928 at Olanta, SC to James Tillar Wates and Jenny Salters Wates. She received a B.A. from Coker College in 1948. After teaching school for two years, she went on to earn an M.A. degree in history from Emory University in 1951. She spent most of her career as a historical specialist with the South Carolina Department of Archives and History. She also served as an adjunct professor of history at Clemson University. In 1995, she was awarded an honorary Doctor of Humanities by Clemson University.
Wylma’s career as a historical specialist with the Department of Archives and History spanned 38 years. As a senior archivist, she was an invaluable resource to scholars, students, and individuals doing research or publication on South Carolina history. Her great friend, historian Dr. Carol Bleser, said of Wylma: “Virtually every scholar who has written on the history of the South, whether they were young graduate students or senior scholars have consulted Wylma Wates, and she has guided them to the rich documentary resources in the South Carolina Archives.” Miss Wates is the author of A Flag Worthy of Your State and People: The History of the South Carolina State Flag, as well as a number of scholarly articles. Hundreds of authors have acknowledged her assistance in their works, a testimony to the fact that she served as a rich resource on South Carolina history.
She is preceded in death by her parents and by her sister, Emma Wates Lesto. She is survived by two nieces, Jane Lesto Die (Mark) of Chesapeake,VA and Nancy Lesto Jenkins (Joey) of Charleston, SC, a nephew, James Edward Lesto of Charleston, SC, two grandnephews, two grandnieces, and a host of beloved cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, September11, 2015 at 2 PM at Union Presbyterian Church, Salters, SC .

Sylvia Cooper Brown, 73, wife of Vernon D. Brown, passed away Friday August 28, 2015, in McLeod Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Brown was born November 1, 1941, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late William Cooper and Frances McLean Cooper. She was a graduate of Kingstree High School and Business School. Sylvia previously worked at FCX, Gold Kist and Carolina Eastern. She was an active member of Millwood United Methodist Church, where she was Treasurer and a member of the Ladies Circle. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Cooper; and a nephew, Will Cooper.
Surviving are: her Husband, Vernon D. Brown, of Kingstree; her sons, David (Beth) Brown, of Atlanta, GA, Richard (Trish) Brown, of Indiana; sister, Libby (Jimmy) Joye, of Garden City; Grandchildren, Austin Brown, Kayla Brown, Adrianna Brown, and Salone Brown; and great grandchild, Zoey.

Guynelle McKnight “Polly” Moseley Waggoner, 83, widow of Bill Waggoner, passed away Tuesday August 18, 2015, in Clarendon Health System.
Mrs. Waggoner was born November 10, 1931, in Lake City, SC, a daughter of the late Guy McKnight and Eleada Cantey McKnight. She was a graduate of Greeleyville High School and was retired from the Williamsburg County School System. Polly was a member of McDowell Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents and her husband Bill, she was preceded in death by her first husband Harry Moseley, her brother Billy McKnight and her sister Peggy Dennis.
Surviving are: her daughter, Karen (Terry) Acree, of Deland, FL; her son, Jimmy (Suellen) Moseley, of Asheville, NC; grandchildren, Alyssa (Bo) Davidson, Ashley (Matt) Schairer, and Taylor Moseley; four great grandchildren, Tripp Davidson, Annelysse Davidson, Alexa Schairer, and Addison Schairer.

Susan “SuSu” Tisdale Mitchum, 59, wife of Mike Mitchum, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2015, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.
Mrs. Mitchum was born February 29, 1956, in Kingstree, a daughter of the late Mims Nesbert Tisdale and Eloise Tisdale. SuSu was a graduate of Williamsburg Academy and was owner of Susan’s Florals and Gifts. She was a member of Lane Methodist Church. Mrs. Mitchum was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are: her Husband, Mike Mitchum, of Kingstree; her daughter, Michele M. (Shannon) Coker, of Kingstree; a granddaughter, Sara Elizabeth Coker, of Kingstree; a sister, Terry Tisdale, of Salters; and her brothers, Dalton N. (Lillian) Tisdale, of Savannah, GA, and Jimmy N. Cornelia Zelene Evans Robinson, 83, widow of H. Dallas Robinson, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015, in Tuomey Hospital in Sumter, SC.
Mrs. Robinson was born March 30, 1932, in New Zion, a daughter of the late Luther Workman Evans and Margaret Harrington Evans. “Grandma Zene”, as she was affectionately known, was a graduate of Gable High School and was a homemaker. She was a lifelong member of Midway Presbyterian Church and had recently been a resident of National Healthcare in Sumter. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Robinson was preceded in death by a son Larry Duane Robinson, and her siblings, Rounette Harrington, Mary Rodgers, and D.W. Evans.
Surviving are: her son, Dallas Wendell Robinson; 3 grandchildren, Courtney (David) Floyd and Brianne (Thomas) Newman, both of Turbeville, and Brooks (Melissa) Robinson, of New Zion: 10 great grandchildren, Brandi (Chris) Lauckner, Hannah Pappas, DJ Pappas, Haley Floyd, T Newman, Robinson Newman, Lara Newman, Madelyn Robinson, Tanner Newman, and John Henry Robinson; 2 great great grandchildren, Linley and Knox Lauckner; daughter-in-law, Jill Robinson; and a number of special nieces and nephews. Timothy “Gregg” Huggins, 64, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2015, in McLeod Hospice House. Mr. Huggins was born March 31, 1951 in Florence, and was the son of Frances Gregg Huggins and the late Percy Powell Huggins. He received an Associate’s degree in Business Management. He was a Department Manager for Nan Ya Plastics and was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church. Mr. Huggins loved going to the beach, off shore fishing, playing golf, and the outdoors. He was an avid Gamecock fan and he loved his family, especially his granddaughters. Mr. Huggins was preceded in death by his sister, Rebecca Finklea and his father.
Surviving in addition to his mother, Frances, are his wife, Jackie M. Huggins, of Kingstree; his son, Robert Huggins, of Kingstree; his daughter, Leigh Ann (Wally) Maynard, of Manning; Granddaughters, Bailey Moore and Ryleigh Maynard; his brother, David Huggins, of Florence, and his twin brother, Marshall (Debra) Huggins, of Florence; and several nieces and nephews.

Bobby Ray Frye, 67, husband of Janice Mims Frye, passed away peacefully Friday September 18, 2015, at his residence after a long battle with cancer.
Mr. Frye was born January 3, 1948, in Florence, a son of Mrs. Lucille Wise Frye and the late McLeon Frye. He was a graduate of Kingstree High School, attended community college, and was retired from Santee Electric Co-Op. Bobby was a member and former president of the Kingstree Kiwanis Club and was a founder of the Terrific Kids Program there. He was a former District President of PTA while his children were attending school. Bobby was a member of Kingstree Second Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and the sound technician.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, Lucille Frye and his wife of 46 years, Janice, both of Kingstree, are: two sons, Derek Frye, of Kingstree and “Ron” Brett Frye, of Columbia; a daughter, Tiffany Frye, of Columbia; granddaughter, Macayla Frye and grandson, Coker Frye, both of Columbia; two brothers, McNeil (Danette) Frye, of Kingstree and Donald (Delane) Frye, of Blythewood; and his mother-in-law, Lois (Eddie) Tarte, of Socastee.

William Bill Fullwood, 82, husband of Pauline M. Fullwood, passed away Tuesday September 1, 2015, in Williamsburg Regional Hospital.
Mr. Fullwood was born June 17, 1933, in Horry County, a son of the late Arthur Fullwood and Sarah Ellen Johnson Fullwood. He was a veteran of the US Army and was a successful brick mason who owned his own business for 36 years. He was a member of Socastee Masonic Lodge #421 and Cedar Grove Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Fullwood was preceded in death by a daughter Rose Fullwood Mills.
Surviving, in addition to his wife Pauline, are: sons, Ebert, Billy (Kim), Lin (Terri), and John (Julia); daughter, Darnell (Rossie) Hall; grandchildren, Victoria, Robert, Amber & Julie, Travis & Jake, Kate, Mary Quinn, Taffeny & Sonny; and 6 great grandchildren.

Elizabeth was a member of Central Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents and her husband Fred, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Benjie Stuckey and Richard Stuckey; sisters, Margaret Brunson, Hattie Shirer and Annie Stuckey; and a granddaughter, Cindy Powell.
