2014 Memorial Service
As the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons approach, we naturally turn to happy thoughts of family gatherings and being with friends. These feelings contrast greatly with the sorrow we feel over the loss of someone dear to us. After the loss of a loved one, it’s not unusual to be apprehensive about the holidays, but it can be a time of remembering, reconnection, and hope for the days and years ahead.
In the spirit of the Christmas season, we would like to invite you, your family and friends to attend a special Remembrance Service in honor of those who have died and in support of those who still live. Please join us at the funeral home on Sunday, November 30th at 4:00 PM. Following the service you’re invited to stay for light refreshments and fellowship. Please let your other family members and friends know of the memorial service.
We will have a lighted memorial tree in our foyer until the New Year. An ornament will be provided that you and your family members can place on the tree in honor and memory of your loved one or you may take the ornament with you to place on your family tree.
RSVP’s are not required but please call us at (843) 355-6262 if you have any questions.
We hope you and your family and friends will join us.

The Cooper Country Store became known as the very best of its kind and a destination stop for travelers going to and coming from the beach. Its historic location and friendly service were featured in both local and national publications including Garden and Gun Magazine, and Adalyn’s connection with her neighbors in Williamsburg County led her to serve in many capacities in her community. Adalyn passion for civic action and service to others led her to become a leader in her county during the Civil Rights Movement, volunteering for a teaching position at Blakely High School in Trio, SC, during the first days of integration, and she served as Poll Manager for the Salters Precinct for its first integrated election in 1964. Her example of care and compassion for others, as well as her lively and energetic spirit will be remembered and cherished by her family and friends by whom she will be greatly missed.
