She is survived by her two sons, Jay (Catherine) Kirby, of Kingstree and Craig (Elizabeth) Kirby, of Columbia; her grandchildren; Tripp Kirby, of Winston-Salem, N.C., Tyler Kirby, of Boone, N.C., Taylor Kirby, of Kingstree, and Allen Kirby and Andrew Kirby, of Columbia; her sister, Margaret Shirlaw, of Florence, her brother, Bobby Dukes, of Kingstree, sister-in-law, Carolyn Dukes, of Columbia, brothers-in-law Keith Phillips, of Columbia and Jim Easler of Columbia. In addition to her husband Jimmy, she was preceded in death by her sisters Dorethea Phillips and Will Easler, and brother Heyward Dukes.
Annette retired after 38 years of service at Williamsburg First National Bank. She was a member of Mount Vernon United Methodist Church in Greeleyville and attended First Baptist Church of Kingstree.
Annette’s deep love for her family was evident in everything that she did. She built a strong legacy of family and love during her 55 years of marriage to Jimmy Kirby. She treasured time with her family, enjoyed countless hours on the beach, faithfully followed University of South Carolina sports, and often gathered everyone together in her home with her cheerful heart and patient spirit. She was well known by many for her macaroni and cheese, sweet tea, peach cobbler, pound cake, and boiled peanuts. She always had something delicious prepared to share at any family gathering, tailgate, or holiday. Her cheerful and welcoming heart will be missed by many.

My heart was truly saddened when I learned of Annette’s death. She was always a sweet kind person, from school days together and throughout her adult life. Don and I are remembering you and your family in love and deepest sympathy.
My sincere condolences to the family. May the God of all comfort give you the comfort you need to endure this difficult time and the days ahead (2 Corinthians 1:3,4)
With deepest sympathy – Nell Harrington and Dianne H. McLellan.
My love, thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Annette’s sister, Doretha, was a very close friend . I would take Doretha to Greeleyville many times as she did not learn to drive until she and Keith moved to Fla. Loved her mother and daddy and all herfamily. I think the last time I saw Annette was at the service for Doretha. I did not know that Heyward had passed away until I read it in Annette’s obituary today. I am so sorry and it seems like I know you boys as Doretha would talk about all of her family with so much love. Your Mom will certainly be missed. She was a very sweet, smart lady and she is happy that she is with your Dad and all her family that is in heaven. Rest in Peace sweet Annette.
Jay and Craig and family, we are sorry to hear of your great loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Chuck and Michelle Easler
