Betty Robinson “Tootsie” Davis, 85, widow of John E. Davis, Jr., died Thursday, June 2, 2016, at Tidelands Hospital in Georgetown.
Mrs. Davis was born June 23, 1930, in Kingstree, a daughter of the late Edward G. Robinson and Ada L. Horton Robinson. She was a High School graduate and was a department store clerk. “Tootsie” was a member of Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness Church and a member of the Eastern Star #195.
Mrs. Davis is survived by: her son, John R. (Gwen) Davis; her daughter Rhoda D. (Stephen) Barrineau; grandchildren, Leslie D. (Scott) Piatt; Elizabeth D. (Shawn) Owens; Cal Barrineau and JoBeth Barrineau; three great grandchildren, Blakely Owens; Garrett Piatt; and KateLynn Owens; one sister-in-law, Jeanette D. Browder; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Davis, Jr.; her brothers, Heyward, E.G., Cecil, and William Robinson; her sisters, Eva McElveen, Edna Brown, Lillian Harrelson, Evelyn Bryan; and adopted sister, Inez Kirton.
