Edward Perry Norris, Jr., 86, husband of the late Frances Smith Norris, passed away at his home in Greeleyville, SC on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
Edward was born in Darlington, SC on January 21, 1939, a son of the late Edward Perry and Evelyn Worrill Norris.
Edward is survived by their five children, and their spouses; Teressa Gamble and Johnny of James Island, SC, Tony Norris and Marian of Greeleyville, SC, Wendy Cogdill and Chris of Summerton, SC, Charlene McCord and Ken of Mount Pleasant, SC, and Hope Roberts and Will of Durham, NC. They have 11 grandchildren; Lawton Alise Boyd, John R. Gamble, III, Caroline Nash, TJ Norris, John Perry Norris, Reid Norris, Brent Cogdill, Blake Cogdill, John Kenneth McCord, Grace Bennett, and Faith Roberts; and 14 great-grandchildren; Addie Bell Boyd, Judge Boyd, Lillie Lee Boyd, Tony Norris, Amelia Norris, Lily Nash, Eliza Perry Norris, George Cogdill, Fielding Cogdill, Tillman Cogdill, Hendon Cogdill, Rylan Cogdill, Hadley Cogdill, and Camden Cogdill; and his siblings; Timothy Norris (Charlene) and Rose Marie Grooms (Cecil). In addition to his parents and his wife Frances, Edward was preceded in death by siblings; Elizabeth Worrill, Marguerite Perkins, Raymond Norris, Gene Norris, Danny Norris, Frankie Norris, and two infant sisters, Joyce Gail and Louise Evelyn Norris.
He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, papa, and friend. He married the love of his life, Frances, on March 22, 1959. They had five wonderful children, whom they cherished. He loved to cut up and make you laugh, fishing, gardening, and farming with his son. He especially enjoyed gospel music, playing the guitar, and watching Duke basketball. He will be deeply missed.

    Tony, siblings and families, I am so sorry to hear of your daddy’s passing. He was a very nice man. He’s with Nanny Norris now but more important, he’s with his Lord and Savior. I know he will be greatly missed. I will keep y’all in my prayers.
