Gary Johnson, 71, husband of Theresa Frye Johnson, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, SC.
Gary was born February 21, 1954, in Williamsburg County, SC, the son of the late Larry Gary Johnson and Annie Barfield Johnson. He was a graduate of Kingstree High School and attended The University of South Carolina. Gary was a salesman for Best Built Barns in West Columbia and enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing in his free time.
In addition to his wife, Theresa “Tecey”, Gary is survived by three sons, Jason Johnson (Meghan), of James Island, Henry “Ryan” Street (Lindsay), of Lebanon, Josh Johnson, of Irmo; two stepsons, Allen Bradshaw (Tara), of Lexington, Lee Bradshaw (Amanda), of Ellijay, GA; 13 grandchildren and four brothers, Wayne Johnson (Debbie), of Manning, Jimmy “J.J.” Johnson (Susan), of Lane, Ronnie Johnson, of Lane, and Dennis Johnson (Pam), of Lane.
A graveside service celebrating Gary’s life will be held 11AM Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Union Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Salters, SC.
