Funeral services will be held 4 PM Friday, in Williamsburg Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation
The family will receive friends after the service at Rusty’s Horse Barn.
Jesse Russell “Rusty” McCrea, 68, died Tuesday, January 12, 2021, in McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC.
Rusty was born May 4, 1952, in Kingstree, a son of the late Jesse B. McCrea and Ella “Dempy” Russell Lee McCrea. He was a graduate of Kingstree High School and received an Associate’s Degree from Kingstree Manpower Center. Rusty worked for Pepsi Cola Bottling Company in Kingstree for 36 years. He loved to ride, break and train horses. Rusty was an avid outdoorsman and participated in Lancing Tournaments and was a Cedar Swamp Lancer. He was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving Rusty are: his daughters, Leigh M. (Justin) Johnson, of Lake City; and Lauren M. (Elder) Hucks, of Aynor; a granddaughter, Ella Grace Johnson; a brother, John D. (Carolyn) McCrea, of Irmo; his horse Junior; and his dog, Remington.
Funeral services will be held 4 PM Friday, in Williamsburg Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends after the service at Rusty’s Horse Barn. Please follow Covid precautions by socially distancing and wearing a mask.

I am so sorry for your loss. My brother Leon McMakin was great friends with Rusty. I heard him say many times what a good person Rusty was and how much he thought of him.
