Funeral services for Mr. Joye will be 11 AM, Monday, October 21, 2024, at Mouzon Presbyterian Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation
Mr. Joye’s family will receive friends and family in the church following the interment.

James Nelson “Jimmy” Joye, 76, husband of Elizabeth Cooper “Libby” Joye, died Friday, October 18, 2024, at his home in Garden City surrounded by his beloved family.
Mr. Joye was born November 21, 1947, in Kingstree, SC, a son of the late William LeGrande Joye, Sr. and Olive Elizabeth Buddin Joye. He was a graduate of Kingstree High School and was a veteran of the SC National Guard. Jimmy worked in the finance department at Williamsburg Memorial Hospital and retired as CFO at Clarendon Memorial Hospital. He was a past officer of HFMA (Healthcare Financial Management Association) of South Carolina. He was a member of Mouzon Presbyterian Church where he was a former deacon. Jimmy enjoyed time with family and friends, often the personable host (with his wife Libby ever at his side) of gatherings at Black River and Garden City. He enjoyed the river, the beach, cooking, golf and karaoke, and was an avid Gamecock fan!
Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Libby, his sons, Greg Joye and Jason (Stacy) Joye and grandsons, Jameson and Grant Joye, all of Murrells Inlet, SC and his beloved sister, JoAnn Joye McCollough of Kingstree. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his brother, William LeGrande Joye, Jr. and a sister who died as a child, Mary Elizabeth Joye.

Jimmy was the greatest mentor, boss, and friend anyone could ask for. He will be greatly missed. My heart and prayers go out to you all.

I knew Jimmy in SC HFMA. They don’t make them any better. A great friend, a wonderful sense if humor, a big heart and to this day, the best shag dancer (with Libby) I’ve ever seen. Deepest condolences to the family.
Mrs.Libby and family, our deepest condolences for your family in this time of griief and sorrow. There are very special memories that I’ll always hold dear in my heart of Mr Jimmy. He helped me through some rough times in my life as a young mom and gave me the encouragement that I needed to keep going for my own children. For that I will always be grateful. Mr.Jimmy was an amazing husband to Mrs Libby and father to Greg and Jason. He will be dearly missed.

I am so sorry to hear that Jim passed away. Jim and his family are loved by many and he will be so missed. Jim and Lib were good, loving, and helpful neighbors to my mother and sister and I will always remember and love them for that. My sincere prayers for you Libby and the family.

I am so sorry for your loss. Jimmy was a great friend and person. I have great memories of time spent with Jimmy, Ms Libby and family. Jimmy was a wonderful cook, I never left his house hungry. He always made everyone welcome.

Libby, I am just learning about your loss. When we worked together at
WRH he would tease me about my weight and I would tease him about being skinny. I enjoyed working with him.

I just saw this on Facebook, and cannot imagine how hard it is for you. Jimmy was a special man and we were all fortunate to know and love him. He had a happy heart and big smile, but think how he is smiling now. He is at peace and has no pain whatsoever.
