Jean Woolbright Brown, 90, widow of Joseph M. Brown, Jr., passed away peacefully at home on April 29, 2017. A native of Seneca, S.C., Achsah Jean Woolbright moved to Marietta, GA then Washington, D.C. where she met her husband, Joseph M. Brown, Jr. They were married for 35 years until his death in 1990.
Her indomitable spirit allowed her to be totally independent as a widow for the last 27 years of her life, surrounded by wonderful neighbors and friends, initially in Bethesda, MD and for the last 7 years at Vinson Hall in McLean, VA.
In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her parents, William Edward Woolbright and Achsah Laura Cromer Woolbright; her son, Joseph M. Brown, III, her brothers, Edward Woolbright, Jr. and Harry Woolbright and her sisters, Laura Woolbright Manning and Lucia Woolbright Wilton.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Frederick Zeisberg, her nephew Emmel M. Woolbright and niece, Derrelle Woolbright Lack.
