Joan āJoniā Morris Kellahan, daughter of Joan Green Morris and the late Loyd Conrad Morris, died peacefully at The Heart Hospital in Columbia on May 3, 2025. Born on October 9, 1958, Joni often said she had the greatest childhood anyone could imagine. Growing up in Andrews, SC, she most enjoyed spending time with her Green cousins and working the summers at the Folly Beach pavilion with her grandmother āBig Momma.ā In 1970, she met Kimbo at Williamsburg Academy, and their love story spanned over 55 years of devotion, laughter and enduring friendship.
Throughout her lifetime, Joni was her familyās biggest fan. Joni loved sports āfirst as a standout high school basketball player and cheerleader, later watching Kimbo play soccer at The Citadel, and always watching all of her children and grandchildren play.
Joni worked in her family business, Rosemary Amusements of Andrews, Inc., with her mother, father and brother. For decades, Joni kept the books in order, not just for over ten businesses, but for family who trusted and depended on her sharp mind and even sharper attention to detail. Whether it was reconciling an account or reminding someone of a forgotten detail, Joni had a way of keeping everyone on track with grace and a knowing smile. Recently, she worked with her sister Brenda with Merry Everything where they enjoyed traveling and selling art all over the country.
Joni was an active charter member of Kingstree Presbyterian Church where she served in multiple roles including past President of Women in the Church. She was a faithful and fun member of her bridge club, book club, and supper club ā and always managed to bring her wisdom and warmth to each. Her greatest joy ā by far ā was being JoJo to her beloved grandchildren, all of whom lived within a mile of her home. It was the gift she never took for granted. More than her knowledge of tradition or her flawless sense of style, Joni will be remembered for her kindness, her generosity and the way she made everyone feel seen and supported.
Joni is survived by her devoted husband of forty-nine years, Kenneth āKimboā Reid Kellahan, their children Kenneth Reid Kellahan, Jr., (Meredith), Justin Morris Kellahan (Tracy), Richard Conrad Kellahan (Blair) and Kathryn āKatieā Kellahan Wheeler (Bill), and thirteen grandchildren who affectionately called her JoJo: Sarah Kensley, Jay, Sophie, Paige, Anne, Addison, Corinne, Emma, Mary Helen, Joan, Kelley, Lizzie and Bo, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Joni is also survived by her mother Joan Green Morris, her sisters Brenda Morris Kerrison (Paul), Amy Morris Edwards (Hugh), her brother, Loyd Conrad Morris, Jr. (Lisa). She was preceded in death by her grandparents, father, Loyd Conrad Morris, nieces, Laura Elizabeth Kerrison and Olivia Kathleen Edwards, her father-in-law, Richard Herman Kellahan, mother-in-law, Helen Reid Kellahan, brother-in-law, John Russell Kellahan, and niece, Reid Louise Kellahan.
