Funeral services will be 3 PM Tuesday, September 4, 2018, in the chapel of Williamsburg Funeral Home, with a burial in Cedar Swamp United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Visitation
Mr. McGill’s family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:30 PM Tuesday before the service at the funeral home.

John Charles “Johnny” McGill, 74, husband of Helen Thompson McGill, died Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at MUSC.
Mr. McGill was born July 1, 1944, in Williamsburg County, a son of the late Charles Emory McGill and Nettie Player McGill Browder. He attended Staunton Military Academy in Staunton, VA and The Citadel. Mr. McGill was an automobile wholesaler and attended Epworth United Methodist Church. He was an avid historian of American History, an accomplished musician, a talented dancer and loved animals.
Surviving Mr. McGill in addition to his wife Helen, are: his daughters, Linda M. (Benjamin) Wojcik, of Denver, Colorado; and Sarah M. (Joshua) Bannister, of Mt. Pleasant; his son, John Emory McGill, of Charleston; a granddaughter, Parker Wojcik, of Denver, Colorado; a grandson, Elliott John Bannister, due in September; and two brothers, Charles McGill and Lenton McGill.
In addition to his parents, Mr. McGill was preceded in death by his sister Linda Spann.
