Karen Elaine Rohe, 77, passed away peacefully Friday, November 29, 2024, at Lake Marion Nursing Home in Summerton, SC.
Karen was born August 30, 1947, in Ft. Worth, TX, the daughter of the late William David Rohe, Jr. and Mary Catherine Nexsen Rohe. She graduated from a specialty school in Falls Church, VA and was a resident at The Coastal Center in Ladson, SC for 45 years. During that time, her parents took her home to Mt. Pleasant every week until their health began failing. When they were unable to have her at home they visited her in Ladson each week. Karen loved music, especially Elvis Presley and animals of all kinds, but her favorite gift by far was a magazine. She thumbed through them carefully, enjoying the feel of the paper in her hands and the beautiful colors in the pictures.
Karen was deeply loved by her parents and family members that spent time with her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her aunt, Ruth Nexsen of Kingstree; cousins, Steve Nexsen of Florence and Melanie Nexsen of Kingstree, Ed Seegar of Charleston, and Cheryl Hall of Benson, NC; an uncle, George Rohe of Montoursville, Pennsylvania; and numerous other cousins in Pennsylvania.
Graveside funeral services for Miss Rohe will be held at 2 PM Sunday, December 1, 2024, at Kingstree Memorial Gardens.
