Keith’s funeral service will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, January 21, 2025, in the Union Presbyterian Church in Salters, SC with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation
Viewing will be from 12 to 12:45 PM in the church. Keith’s family will receive friends in the Martin Building following the graveside committal service.

Keith Newton Stuckey, 73, of Lexington, SC, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025, at his home.
Keith was born on February 18, 1951, in Kingstree, SC, the son of the late James Henry Stuckey and Lucile Newton Stuckey.
Keith shared 51 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Joan Buttermore Stuckey. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, and faith. He is survived by his wife, son, Eric Capers Stuckey (Laura E. Stuckey), and two grandchildren, Hunter Winslow Stuckey and Scarlett Claire Stuckey. He is also survived by his sisters, Elizabeth Stuckey Mabry (Bufford) and Mary Stuckey Freeman (Caleb). Keith was predeceased by his son, Robert Keith Stuckey, his brother, Jimmy Stuckey (Remy), and his mother, Lucile Newton Stuckey.
Keith graduated from Kingstree High School in 1969 and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of South Carolina. He began his career as an educator, teaching at Kingstree Elementary for five years. He later worked with Farmers Telephone in Kingstree, SC, for ten years, including time as a lobbyist advocating for rural communications. Keith retired as Chief Operating Officer of Palmetto Mobile Net, Inc., where he played a key role in bringing cellular telephone service to the rural areas of South Carolina.
A man of many talents, Keith had a deep passion for music. As a lead singer, trumpeter, and guitarist, he performed with several bands, including The Knights of Kingstree and Brandy of Sumter, SC, sharing his love of music for over 25 years. Artistic and creative, Keith enjoyed designing, building, and creating. He was always working on a project around the house and enjoyed landscaping, carpentry, and refinishing furniture. He was also an excellent cook, famous among family and friends for his turkey wings and grilled cowboy steaks. He loved Murrells Inlet and Pawleys Island seafood and steamed oysters.
Keith’s life was a testament to love, family, faith, and service. He had a strong faith in and loved the Lord Jesus Christ. He was deeply devoted to his family, cherishing time spent with his grandchildren. Keith had a giving heart to those in need. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
