Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Williamsburg Funeral Home with burial in Kingstree Memorial Gardens.
Visitation
Linda’s family will greet friends and family from 6 to 8 PM Monday at the funeral home.

Linda Stanley McGill, 74, wife of Frank “Hilton” McGill, Jr., passed away peacefully at her home in Kingstree on Saturday, December 14, 2024.
Linda was born January 11, 1950, in Conway, SC, the daughter of the late Elizabeth Luna “Lib” Edwards Stanley and Richard Luther “R.L.” Stanley. She was a 1968 graduate of Kingstree High School and attended Anderson College. Linda and Hilton owned and operated Kingstree Red & White for many years after Mr. and Mrs. Stanley retired. She was a faithful and active member of Kingstree First Baptist Church until recent years when her health declined. There she taught Sunday School, helped with GAs and always volunteered, especially for anything involving the youth of the church. Linda loved to join her friends at any social event, and she enjoyed Dance Club, Bridge Club, and football games, especially Clemson Tigers. But Linda’s focus was on her children and her grandchildren. She attended every school or church function, cheering for them and always supporting them. Lovingly known as “Yaya” by her grandchildren and others, she was a mother and friend to all the neighborhood children as well. They loved her fiercely.
In addition to her husband of 55 years, Hilton, Linda is survived by: her children, “Frank” Hilton McGill, III of Greenville, SC, Margaret “Meg” McGill (Greg) Beatson of Kingstree, and Stanley “Stan” Richard (Logan) McGill of Florence; six grandchildren, Emma Ryan Gordon, (Grant), Hilton Elizabeth McGill, Nancy Grace McGill, Julia May McGill, Carter Stanley McGill, and Richard Davis McGill; and one great grandchild, Easton James Hughes.

I am so sad to hear of Linda’s passing. I had no idea her health had declined! Last time I saw her she was as joyful and lively as ever!

I was deeply saddened to hear of your mother’s passing. Mrs. Linda was such a special part of my life growing up—always there with a kind heart, a listening ear, and an endless warmth that made her feel like family. Mr. Hilton, you and Mrs. Linda had a way of loving and accepting all of us kids, making each of us feel seen, welcomed, and cared for. I will forever cherish the wonderful memories we shared at your home, pond house, WA game, or elsewhere.

I’m so sad to hear of the passing of Mrs Linda. She was a wonderful woman that always made me smile. She was like a ray of sunshine anytime I saw her. I have many precious memories of her during the time I spent in her home with Meg. My deepest condolences to Mr Hilton, Frank, Meg, and Stan. All of the family will be in my prayers. I am deeply shocked and saddened to hear of Mrs Linda passing. She was a bright light during my teenage years thru my career at Coca-Cola. From functions at WA to checking me into the Red & White with Coca-Cola orders, always a smile or a quick joke! I truly LOVED and LOOKED FORWARD to delivering to the Red and White just to see her and Mr Hilton. Thank you for allowing her to be a mother to all of the kids in Kingstree! She will surely be missed. Please know I love you all and you all are in my prayers.

“Miss” Linda’s laugh lives strongly in my memories! I babysit for the kids and loved every minute of being with the family -although I’m not sure I was all that helpful. My condolences to all!
My deepest sympathy to Hilton and the McGill family. Linda and Hilton were my dearest friends for many years. I always thought of Linda as my sister. She was so kind, caring, and we could talk for hours. I’m devastated that I let too many tears slip by since last seeing them both. Linda rest in peace, you lived your life well.
