A funeral service for Lynn will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, February 27, 2026, at Sandy Bay Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial to follow at Smith Cemetery.

Lynn’s family will receive family and friends from 6-8 P.M., Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the funeral home.

Joseph “Lynn” McKenzie, 83, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at his home with family by his side.
Lynn was born July 30, 1942, in Kingstree, SC. He was the son of the late Reverend Samuel A. McKenzie and Edith Morris McKenzie. He was a graduate of Kingstree High School and was a lifelong member of Sandy Bay Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he served as a deacon for many years. He loved attending church activities. Lynn worked for Baxter/G.B. Fermentation for thirty-seven years.
He was an avid Atlanta Braves and South Carolina Gamecocks fan. He enjoyed playing golf for most of his life. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Lynn is survived by his loving and faithful wife, Suzanne H. McKenzie of 59 ½ years; daughters, Lisa Welch (Joel) of Valdese, NC, Amanda McCullough (Patrick) of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Joel, Natalie, Lia-Lan, Zachary and Sydney; siblings, Susan Reeves (Steve), Jerry McKenzie (Paulette), Keith McKenzie (Jenny); and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Lynn was preceded in death by; a grandson, Jake Michael McCullough; and siblings, Shirley Martin, Archie McKenzie, Delbert McKenzie, Judy Coker, Larry McKenzie and Ashton McKenzie.
The family would like to give our thanks to Gentiva Hospice, especially Tabitha, Erika, Heather, Howard, Carey, Pastor Leo and the many others with Gentiva.
We would also like to express our deepest gratitude to the following for all the love and care given to Lynn over the last two years: Lou Brown, Pat Evans, Sandy Rauch, Ferma Scott and Bobbie Welch.

So sorry to hear this, he was always kind and thoughtful when we saw him. May God bless his family with peace and love.
Lynn was a very dear friend for many years. Tom & I will miss him .
