Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday September 3, 2025, at Kingstree Memorial Gardens.
Mary Elizabeth “Libby” Foxworth Cooper, 81, wife of the late Loyd H. Cooper, died Sunday, August 31, 2025, surrounded by family.
Libby was born October 2, 1943, in Kingstree, SC, a daughter of the late Walter Foxworth and Alice McKnight Foxworth. She was a graduate of Williamsburg High School and retired from the Williamsburg County School District. Libby loved to watch NASCAR and the Atlanta Braves and enjoyed sitting on her porch watching her birds and all other wildlife. She was a member of Trio Church.
Libby is survived by her son, William L. “Bill” McClary of Kingstree; a step-son, Kevin Cooper of Greenville; three brothers, Walter Robert “Bob” Foxworth (Debbie) of Columbia, SC, James Elliott “Jimmy” Foxworth Sr. (Mitsy) of Kingstree, SC, and the Honorable Randy Brice Foxworth (Holly) of Andrews, SC; several nieces and nephews and her fur baby, “Kit-Kat”. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Harold Foxworth of Greenwood, SC.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday September 3, 2025, at Kingstree Memorial Gardens.

    I loved working with Libby when she was at the school district and I was at Williamsburg Tech! She and Ken Wooten and I planned a lot of special events including staff-faculty trips and several years of Techno-Camp! She was wonderful. I’m so sorry about her passing. Her memory will be a blessing to so many. Jim and I send our sympathy, love, and prayers to you and all the family.

    I just heard of the passing of my dear friend Libby. She and I became friends during my first year of teaching. I remember all the laughter and great conversations we had. We gave ourselves the nicknames salt and pepper. Of course, I was salt and she was pepper. My deepest sympathy to the family. Know that Libby was loved by many.
