Morris Henry “Mark” Metts, Jr., 64, husband of Sylvia Williams Metts, passed away at MUSC Florence on Monday, July 5, 2021.
Mr. Metts was born March 14, 1957, in Sanford, FL, a son of the late Morris H. Metts, Sr. and Betty Jean Ulmer Metts. He was a graduate of Seminole High School in Sanford, FL and retired after thirty years as a Lieutenant with the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office. Mark was a member of United Baptist Church in Sanford, FL. He enjoyed hunting, riding his motorcycle, and traveling.
Surviving Mr. Metts are: his wife, Sylvia, of DeBary, FL; daughter, Stacie Elizabeth (David) Pojero of DeBary, FL; son, Morris Henry “Clay” Metts, III (Nicole) of DeBary, FL; brother, Marshall Scott (Angie) Metts of Osteen, FL; 4 grandchildren, Anthony Carter Pojero, Maren Elizabeth Pojero, Charlotte Rae Metts, Madelyn Harper Metts; nieces and nephews, Kiya Metts, Tyler Metts, Lindsey Knox, and Austin Langin, all of Osteen, FL. In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by a brother, Todd Fallaw Metts.

My condolences to all his family. I worked with him at the SCSO County Jail later names John E Polk. Had great sense of humor a great person to work with. RIP brother until we meet again. May God gives the strength to all his family in such difficult times.

I know this is late, but I just found out about his passing. I was friends and a law enforcement brother. We were such good friends that each time he was working and I had a prisoner to book he made sure I did not have to wait in line. We had a lot of laughs. I loved his humor. I will thin k of him always.
