Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 15, 2015, in Broad Swamp Pentecostal Holiness Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday evening at Williamsburg Funeral Home.

Mrs. Joyce Floyd Nexsen, 76, wife of Thomas Ralston Nexsen, died Sunday, April 12, 2015, at McLeod Hospice House in Florence.
Mrs. Nexsen was born November 7, 1938, in Olanta, a daughter of the late Clarence L. Floyd and Mamie Leona Hill. She was a graduate of Lake City High School and Williamsburg Technical College. Mrs. Joyce attended her nursing training at McLeod’s Regional Medical Center and retired from Baxter Travenol. She previously worked at Kelly Memorial Hospital and was a teacher at Living Word Christian School. Mrs. Nexsen was a member of Broad Swamp Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was a choir member, a Sunday school teacher, and in women’s ministry. Mrs. Joyce enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Nexsen was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, George “Jack” Burgess; a sister; Hilda Floyd; sister–in-laws, Melene Beard Floyd and Mary Eaddy Floyd; a brother-in-law, Ernest Yarborough, and a niece, Joyce Annette Yarborough.
In addition to her husband Tommy, Mrs. Joyce is survived by: a daughter, Georgia B. (Craig) Hoppel; a son, Jonathan T. Nexsen; 4 grandchildren, Jessica D. (Jessie) Hermosillo, Grant Drucker, Jordan Drucker, and Taylor Drucker; 1 great grandchild, Cammilla Hermosillo; a sister, Annette Y. (Joe) Alexander; 3 brothers, Samuel (Kay) Floyd, Richard Floyd, and Emiel (Dorothy) Floyd; a special niece, Judy Y. Lucius, and many other precious nieces and nephews.

I’m so very sorry to hear about your mom. I can’t imagine loosing my mom and I know you are really hurting! I have such fond memories of playing with dolls at your house when we were very young. Your mom was the best! I wish I were closer so I could be there. You and all of your family are in my thoughts and prayers! I will be in touch soon. Love you lots!
