Ralph Cleo Fennell, Jr., 70, died Thursday, November 22, 2018, at his home after an illness.
Mr. Fennell was born February 24, 1948, in Kingstree, a son of the late Ralph Cleo Fennell, Sr. and Barbara Huggins Fennell. He was a graduate of Kingstree High School and received a Bachelor degree from Clemson University and a Master of Arts degree in education from the University of SC. Ralph was retired after serving as principal of Greeleyville Elementary School and Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent of Williamsburg County Schools.
Ralph is survived by his son, Brad (Temple) Fennell, of Pooler, GA, a grandson, Conner Fennell and granddaughter, Bellamy Fennell, also of Pooler, 2 sisters, Saundra F. (Bill) Dyson, of Georgetown, SC and Pam F. (Yancey) McGill, of Kingstree, and many nieces and nephews.
A family service will be held at a later date.

I taught at Greeleyville Elementary School and Ralph was my Principal for most of my 27 years there. He was a good principal.

I remember Ralph as a member of St. Albans in Kingstree. He was a dedicated and hard worker for St. Albans from organizng pancake suppers, redesigning the kitchen at The Parish House, etc. Rest in Peace.

I knew Ralph years ago and have many fond memories. I lost touch and went to find him through social media and was met with the news of his illness and our loss. To the family and school districts I send my condolences, I know your lives are missing a great light.
May you find laughter and joy in his cherished memories. The God of all comfort and tender mercies cares for you because he knows the pain you bear. Please accept my condolences in this heartbreaking time. I encourage you to look to the time when you can be reunited again. John 5:28-30.
Mr. Fennel touched the lives of many in Williamsburg County. My heartfelt condolences to all of you. May your many family memories bring you comfort to share with each other during this special time. May you find peace and comfort in the words of 2 Corinthians 1:3,4.
I haven’t seen or spoken with Mr. Ralph in years. I’ve worked for him several times in remodeling his home, doing projects and helping anyway I could with anything he needed help or wanted to do. Always was very grateful an any type of help or work was appreciated to the fullest and he showed it. I hate hearing this I can’t believe I’m just finding out. RIP Ole Pal til we meet again
