Funeral services will be 1 PM, Friday, January 28, 2022, at Midway Presbyterian Church, EPC, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation
Mr. Harrington’s family will receive family and friends 5 to 8 PM Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Williamsburg Funeral Home in Kingstree, SC.

Richard Carter “Ricky” Harrington, 72, husband of Jo Ann Baylor Harrington, died at home surrounded by family on Sunday, January 23, 2022.
Mr. Harrington was born March 29, 1949, in Kingstree, SC, a son of the late Jacob Kinder Harrington and Elizabeth ”Lib” Louise Carter Harrington. He was a graduate of East Clarendon High School and retired as the maintenance supervisor at Williamsburg Technical College after 25 years of service. Mr. Harrington was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a lifetime member of Black River Hunting Club, serving as a former president and treasurer. He was an active lifetime member of Midway Presbyterian Church, EPC, where he served as Elder, Sunday school teacher, treasurer of Men of the Church, and cook for Bible School, the annual Steak Supper and Ingathering. Ricky was a devoted husband and a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Surviving Mr. Harrington, in addition to his wife of 51 years, Jo Ann, are: his children, Shelia (Greg) Baker of Versailles, KY, Beth Powell (Johnny Fedorchuk) of Hartsville, SC and Brian (Stephanie) Harrington, of New Zion; grandchildren, Hunter and Bryce Baker of Versailles, KY, Kyla Lawhon of Effingham, SC, William and Jacob McElveen of Hartsville, SC and Lacey Harrington of New Zion, SC; great grandchild, Grayson Herbert of Effingham; a sister, Ann H. (Sanford) Roberson of Lake Junaluska, NC, and many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. In addition to his parents, Mr. Harrington was preceded in death by a sister, Ellen H. Cantey.

Jo Ann and family, we are so very sorry to learn of Ricky’s passing. He was a good friend who was always willing to lend a helping hand. We know he will be missed by all who knew him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.

We are really sad to learn of the passing of Ricky Harrington and extend heartfelt condolences to Jo Ann and the rest of his family. We worked with Ricky for a number of years at Williamsburg Tech and knew him as a totally reliable responsible person who could be trusted to do the job quickly and correctly. JoAnn, Brian, Sheila and Beth, We were sorry to hear of Ricky’s passing. He had a heart of gold when it came to family, friends and the church. I can remember when JoAnn kept children he was affectionally known as “Uncle Ricky”. He always had time for a friend in need. I know he is probably telling Nana and his Dad about all the fish he caught and the good times he had catching them. Our prayers are with all of you during this time. I love you Brian. you were a wonderful son to your dad and I know he was so proud of you. David and I are here if you need us for anything.
Mrs. Jo Ann we are extremely saddened to hear about Ricky’s passing. He was a good friend and took me under his wings when I was hired at WTC. He will be truly missed. You all are in our prayers.

Mrs. Jo Ann & family-Mr. Ricky was a godsend to my mom and me when we lost Daddy (Clarence Harrington). He checked in on mom and helped her in many ways. May the peace of The Lord be with you all. Rest assured, Mr. Ricky now walks among the angels.

Joann and family, my heart is broken over the death of Ricky. We have been friends since childhood and played together almost everyday until my family moved I was Curtis’s little sister who was a pest to them. Know that I Love your family and I Hold you in my heart forever.
