Shari White Matthews, 62, wife of Donald Howard “PeeWee” Matthews, died December 6, 2024, at her home in Kingstree, SC.
Shari was born December 21, 1961, in Darlington County, SC, a daughter of the late C. B. White and Barbara Phillips White. She was a graduate of Hartsville High School and was a homemaker. Shari was a member of Broad Swamp Pentecostal Holiness Church where she spent time serving others. She was always there to volunteer her time to help with fundraisers, special events, and never hesitated to help with anything she was asked to do. She was the hands and feet of Christ, letting her light shine through her willingness to help others. Shari’s favorite place to be was outside. She loved flowers and everything to do with them. She would share what flowers she had with others and helped many friends with their yards and flower beds. If she wasn’t outside with her friends, she could most likely be found helping someone else with their housework or watching their children. When Shari wasn’t helping others, she enjoyed reading, needlepoint, crocheting and crossword puzzles.
Surviving Shari, in addition to her husband of 44 years, PeeWee, are: her brother and his wife, Bobby and Cheryl White of Selma, NC; brother-in-law, Joey (Fran) Matthews of Timmonsville; sister-in-law, Cathy (Randell) Thompson of Coward; niece, Sarah Matthews of Lake View; nephews, Mason Matthews of Lamar and Carter Matthews of Timmonsville; and special friends, Cheryl and Gary McClam.
