Tom was born June 25, 1947, in Columbia, SC, son of late Lewis Frank and Mary Helen Chappell Waddell. Tom served in the US Navy for 4 years, which included 2 tours to Vietnam. After the service he was a surveyor and, for many years, a landscaper. In 2000, he began work at UPS and finished his working career there, retiring to Horse Shoe, NC in 2018.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Betty Ann Waddell, sister Kaye Waddell Bradley, brother Ted Waddell and nephew Ross Waddell.
