Thomas Wayne Crooks, 76, husband of Cynthia Smith Crooks, died Sunday, July 16, 2023, at his home in Kingstree, SC.
Wayne was born December 13, 1946, in Williamsburg County, SC, a son of the late John Bernard Crooks, Sr. and Lillie Mae Pendergrass Crooks. He was a graduate of Kingstree High School, attended Baptist College of Charleston, and was an independent insurance agent. Wayne was a member of Millwood Methodist Church.
Surviving Wayne, in addition to his wife Cynthia, are: a son, Tommy (Emily) Crayton; stepdaughters, Crystal (Ricky) Antwine and Sara Lawson; grandchildren, Christina (Nick) Brown, Brad Belding, R.J. and Hunter Antwine, and Emma and Lily Crayton; 2 great grandsons; daughter-in-law, Teri Hesler; sister, Doris Benke; brothers, John B. (Marian) Crooks, Jr., Carroll (Teresa) Crooks, and Clyde (Jan) Crooks; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Crooks, Sr. and a stepson, Lonnie Belding.
