Tina McCutchen McDonald, 57, adored wife of Marty McDonald, died at her home in Kingstree Thursday, August 21, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family.
Tina was born September 22, 1967, in Florence, SC, a daughter of Frances Gibbons Haigler and the late Liston McCutchen. She was a graduate of Williamsburg Academy and completed her education in nursing at Central Carolina Technical College and Horry-Georgetown Technical College. Tina started her registered nursing career at Dr. Raymond Allen’s office in Kingstree and afterward spent 25 years working in long term care including time as administrator of Pruitt Post Acute Care in Moncks Corner and Director of Nursing at both Lake City-Scranton Nursing Home and Ron McNair Nursing Home. She attended Floyd’s Chapel in Barrineau. Tina enjoyed her camping trips, trips to the mountains, and especially the trips to the beautiful beaches of South Carolina where her face beamed when she saw the sand and the sea and heard the soothing sound of the waves.
In addition to her husband Marty and her mother Frances (David Hodge) Haigler, Tina is survived by: a daughter, Jessica Elizabeth Barrineau (Austin Long) of Latta; 2 sons, Zachary (Brittany) McDonald of Kingstree and Matthew McDonald (Kaitlyn Yarbrough) of Hartsville; 3 grandchildren, Nicholas, Danielle, and Marion McDonald; 2 brothers, Woody (Rebecca) McCutchen of Gordon, GA and Jeff “Sam” Haigler of Kingstree; a sister, Angel (Jim) Johnson of Bonneau; mother-in-law, Onita McDonald of Kingstree; her fur baby Sugar; and her grand fur baby Briar. In addition to her father Liston, Tina was preceded in death by grandparents, Addie and Hampton McCutchen and James Andrew and Carrie Gibbons, and her father-in-law, Ronald McDonald.
Tina’s family would like to give special thanks to Hannah Mouzon who treated Tina like her own mother and Amedisys Hospice for their compassionate care of Tina.

I’ve followed her story on a FB group for some time now and the inspiration helped me with my own husband who suffered from vascular dementia. Perhaps they will meet in Heaven now. May the Good Lord hold you all close to His heart during this extremely difficult time and His angels surround you. So many beautiful memories of your life together.

Tina was a special girl, not being very old when we became family. Then becoming a special woman full of love and dance. This she shared with her daughter, family, pups and her patients. The time we spent together will always be cherished with much love in my soul and heart. She believed in God and I know she is in His Tender Loving Hands. Many Blessings to all of you that knew and loved her.
