I lived in Kingstree for 1 year, 1967, when My husband was in Vietman. My Mother, Daisy Cantey, and I went to Velma every we week for her to do our hair. She lived in the ” corner” with her parents. Nice lady.
My sincerest condolences are with you and your family. May God bless and comfort you through this difficult time. ❤️🙏🙏🙏

Sincere condolences to the family from The Gees.
Your momma was one of the sweetest ladies around! Spent many a day at that beauty shop waiting on momma to get her hair done {and NOBODY could fix it like Velma!) just so we could get our hair cut too! Timmy played with us while we waited….well, mostly my brother! We all were so close then….But time never changed Velma-she always had the sweetest smile & greetings when we ran into one another years later! I know y’all will miss her dearly! God bless all of you during this time. Y’all will be in my thoughts and prayers.
When I came to Sandy Bay as a young bride Velma made sure I felt at home. She always had a smile to share and made me feel special.
Such a sweet lady. Thoughts and prayers for the family.
Sending condolences to the family. Praying God comforts you during this difficult time.
My mom always went to Velma to fix her hair. I remember one time calling the salon because I needed to speak with my mom. When Velma answered and asked who I needed I said Mama. She then asked me who I was. Sweet lady!
Love this Sweet Lady! Condolences to the family. You are in my thoughts and prayers 🙏🏼💕
