Vivian Amerson Perkins, 77, widow of Clarence “Ed” Perkins, died Friday, August 7, 2020, at her home in Kingstree.
Mrs. Perkins was born March 13, 1943, in Darlington, SC, a daughter of the late Carl Major Amerson and Pauline Minnie Goodson Amerson. She was a graduate of St John High School and was a supervisor at the sewing plant in Coward. “Miss Vivian” was an avid golfer and loved her flowers, planting many different varieties.
Surviving Mrs. Perkins are: her sons, Tony (Joan) Coward of Kingstree and Billy Coward of Greenville; her daughter, Brenda (William) Hodge of Manning; brothers, Butch (Frances) Amerson of Florence and Larry Wayne (Chris) Wilkes of Kansas; sister, Ann Jackson of Florence; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; her beloved four-legged baby, Milo; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband Clarence, whom she loved dearly, Vivian was preceded in death by a brother Eddie Amerson and a sister Betty Powell. Vivian’s family would like to thank the staff of Regency Southern Care who took such good care of her, especially nurses and caregivers, Erica Wilkes, Kara Nutter, Carrie Beck, and Shaneka Dundy.
