Funeral services will be 2 PM Monday, November 23, 2015, in Gourdines Chapel Church, with burial in the church cemetery.

Wanda Ward Powell, 62, widow of James Powell, died Saturday, November 21, 2015, in McLeod Hospice House surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Powell was born June 26, 1953, in Georgetown County, a daughter of the late Talley “Doc” Ward and Juanita Lambert Ward. She was a homemaker and attended Gourdines Chapel Church. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a nephew Timothy West.
Surviving are: her daughters, Melissa (Kevin Hartley) Bowers of Louisiana and Amanda (Joseph) Phillips of Kingstree; her son, James “Bubba” (Jodi Lambert) Turner of Andrews; her sister, Geraldine (Adman) West of Andrews; 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; her special friend, Sammie Cooper of Georgetown; and 1 niece and 1 nephew.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Monday, November 23, 2015, in Gourdines Chapel Church, with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Sunday at the church.

Our deepest sympathy are with you and your family during this difficult time. I have missed her coming by the police dept when you were back there with me. She was a sweet caring lady.
